Perfect for kayak anchor line management

Perfect anchor line management for a kayak. Have been out with it several times in the water and works great. Construction and quality is solid.

Better Than Expected

I am making portable heavy duty rope ratchet hoists that use 70 feet of 1/2 inch solid braid nylon rope . I asked the question if this rope holder could hold that much rope. I did get some great answers from other Amazon members. I thank all who replied. This Line Winder did indeed hold 70 feet of 1/2 inch solid braid nylon rope with some room to spare. Maybe could hold up to 85 feet . The holes on the 4 corners of the line winder were very useful. I was able to clamp the rope ratchet and the pulley assembly on the top holes , and secure the rope end through the bottom holes to keep it from unwinding . I have attached 2 pictures showing the complete assembly . Im very satisfied with the outcome. This particular line winder will keep my rope ratchet hoists organized.

Better than hand wrapping...

...maybe. This works and does what it's designed to do - easily wind up tow rope after water sports. Does not work well if there is any tension in a line - don't expect to pull a kid ON a tube in with this (let alone 2 or 3) If your line is somewhat slack, this will fairly easily and quickly (and neatly) wind in the tow line. Although a little slow, it does play the line out without knotting it up. Although I wish there were one with a better design (spinning handles & wider spaced handles), I would buy this again if there were no other options.

Took away one star because its not perfect. If the handle was larger and had a ...

Use this on my kayak to manage 50ft of 750 paracord used as anchor line. Could still hold plenty more. Took away one star because its not perfect. If the handle was larger and had a padeye, I could leave my anchor float attached while winding up the line. That being said, its probably the best anchor line management alternative to the diving reel technique.

I'm sure it deserves a higher rating it just didn't work as well as I had hoped lowering a raising a 3 lb..anchor in my float tube. Anchor was a little heavy but still was a good way to keep rope organized. Well enough made. I will have to try it with my 11/2 lb.

It's a little expensive for what it is, but so far no problems with the quality of the item. Depending on what you use it for, it may be a little small and the winding is a little short on the rotations.

Dog freedom line --slightly different I know

I use it for a 100' rope for my reactive dog so she can chase balls in an open field but I still have a line on her if another dog or squirrel goes by. Much easier to keep her rope free from tangles.

Worked well but handle broke off the first Day when I tossed it in the boat.
