Color not as advertised. Product images show "Chili" but actual boot is Brown (appears suede).

Fits similar to Park Ave, but slightly tight in toebox. Color not as advertised; images show Chili colorway but actually brown.

Uneven color; color tone not as pictured

As expected, the shoe is well-built and looks great. What is somewhat disappointing is that the right shoe on my order is not evenly colored between sections, while the left shoe is fine. The color I received is more of a chocolate brown, and not the deeper, richer reddish brown in the picture. Polishing the lighter sections with black polish helped even out the color difference. Also, since I have large calves, the ankle collar creates some discomfort around my achilles tendon, and time will tell if it’s something I will get used to, or will cause pain and irritation on long days.

Acceptable Factory Seconds

Be aware that these are factory seconds, and not firsts, so most of them come with "minor" QC issues. If you are expecting perfect quality and finesse, you will not find it here, and I would recommend buying first factory pairs directly from Allen Edmonds so you could return to them in case you find something you don't like. Allen Edmond's overall QC has degraded over the years so I really don't mind getting factory seconds at a slightly cheaper price. Especially for a boot like this that I plan to wear for casual settings. My pair had minor issues like an uneven heel cut, uneven storm welt, etc. So overall I'm very satisfied with this purchase. See pictures. Be careful of the sizing as well, I ordered X-Wide expecting (EE width) but I got XX-Wide instead (EEE width), but it turned out ok in my case because I don't mind the extra space to compensate for thicker socks,

Factory firsts and look great!

I bought the AE Hamiltons in cognac here before, and they were clearly factory seconds. However, given AE's rushed finishing, I think these walnut Hamiltons are as close to what factory firsts for AE go. The leather looks beautiful, is thick yet soft, and likely very durable. I love the Dainite soles as I'd otherwise have to install sole protectors on leather soles to avoid slipping and unsightly wear. The AE's Hamiltons are my favorite AE design. It's a vertical continuation of the AE's Strands, which are some of AE's best-sellers as people love the 65 last and the balanced broguing design. They're in my opinion some of the nicest looking designs for semi-formal dress shoes, with the comfort of a sturdy boot. AE have an extremely predictable fit once you find your right size, but you should probably get fitted in a shoe store for dress shoes if these are your first dress shoes. The boots are very comfortable, and should last you many wears before being re-soled.
