This is size large, and there is no info as to who they would fit. I took a chance on them. I have a medium to large frame- 7" wrists, 10.5" forearms, 12.5" biceps. These sleeves have a generous fit. Lots of stretch. Feels loose, but the sleeves stay in place, go just over the elbow. Even so, a little smaller might be better for my dimensions. That being said, they will be put to use come spring for outdoor work. While it is currently winter, and it will be awhile before I am out doing things that inevitably scratch up my arms, I did poke at my arm with this on. I even slashed at it a little with a knife (not while on arm, but with a piece of cardboard slipped through. The material is robust, durable, strong, all what one wants from a sleeve protector. So I think it will be real helpful come spring. I do part time landscaping, I lay a lot of mulch, I crawl around on the ground under bushes using my arms to spread lots and lots of nasty mulch. I also do trimming, raking, edging, and anything else required to get the job done. I had done a job with short sleeves (100 degrees 100% humidity) and paid for it with marred up arms, and once.. ring worm from contaminated mulch. Every time since no matter the temps, long sleeves and full pants it is. I wear long sleeves, sometimes double up to try to protect my arms. That often helps to keep a significant portion of scrapes and stabs and irritations from mulch, but not always. Long sleeves from a regular shirt is still just that--still easy to compromise. So I have been wanting to get a more robust sleeve. Now I have a pair, which I will put to use once spring comes. Price is reasonable at less than $8 for the pair. I wanted these for a specific purpose--to help protect against cuts, scrapes, and irritations. I need more protection than what a long sleeve, or doubled up long sleeve, or other basic material can provide. I also wont feel bad for messing up these sleeves compared to messing up a pricy long sleeved shirt. I will likely wear these over my shirt rather than under. That might enhance the fit. Someone mentioned using a tube sock with a thumb hole cut into it (*proceeds to sacrifice my husbands socks* haha), which wouldn't be enough for my needs but I think would further help create a better fit if anyone thought these too loose. I haven't tried this yet.. I am curious about trying it in "food service". I wonder if these are heat resistant? I burn myself way too often- whether direct heat (ie touching oven heating coil) or steam. My skin is super sensitive and delicate, and even one second across a steaming pot will mar my skin. Anyway, I wish they clarified in the product description if this material is heat safe to a certain degree of reliability. Or maybe they didn't mention it because it has no protection. But then why use the word "food service". Or do they mean from cutting? I have no idea.
