Definitely *NOT* a fine mesh screen

It seems to be fairly good quality, but this is definitely *NOT* a fine mesh screen. Before buying, I tried asking the manufacturer what the specific "mesh" count is, but got no answer. I see from the Q&As that several others have also had the same question in the past, but they didn't get a specific answer either. Well... it's right there on the tag: 30 mesh. I also attached a closeup photo with a ruler which shows the coarseness of the mesh. It's too bad that I had to buy this just to find out that it's too coarse for what I need. FWIW: the actual outside diameter on the screen side is almost 9-1/16" (~ 9.05") ...on the other side (with the rolled lip), it's right at 9-1/4" (9.25")

fine mess makes a very fine flour.

Use thiscweekly for making fine flour from my home milled grains. It takes time and work since the mesh is very fine. The effort iscwell worth it. Thetime aded is actually only a few minutes. I hang it up. The sidewalls are more than study enough for use, but concerned it may dent if banged around in a full cupboard. this is overall good seive at a great price. It will last me a long time.

A very fine-mesh sifter

I read different reviews on this product, and it was actually one of the negative reviews that helped me choose this particular sifter. A reviewer complained that he/she tried to sift flour and it took some effort to get it all through this mesh. Well, that is exactly what I was looking for! I grind my own flour, and I wanted the sifter to let the finest powder pass through while catching any pieces that needed to be reground. This sifter worked exactly as I hoped it would. I have other sifters in the house, but this one has the tightest mesh. I could use it to strain liquids too. If that is what you are looking for, you'll probably like this product.

This is perfect for making high extraction wheat flour!

This sieve is sturdy and uniform. It is exactly what I needed to make high extraction wheat flour for my sourdough whole grain bread. When I mill wheat berries on the finest setting on my Komo mill and then sift them through this sieve I get about 80% extraction flour which is exactly what I wanted. I mill and sift 100 gm of wheat at a time and it really doesn't take very long. Love it!

Great super fine sieve

This is exactly what I needed, a super fine sieve which does not get broken or get some holes in it. Have been using this product almost everyday (and I do not work in a restaurant), for past couple of months now before I decided to wait and write this review. Quality is consistent, and hole size acros the mesh seems to be uniform. Have been using it for all applications from confectioners sugar to mixing all purpose flour with baking soda.

Have only used this sifter a few times. It does the job well. Clean and professional looking. With care (not cleaned in dishwasher) it should last a while. I'm perfectly satisfied!

Did not meet requirement - Not Practical at best

This item was so disappointing. The sieve size was too fine that the regular white flour from the supermarket and cake flour (Food Lions) did not go through easily. I even used a table spoon in hopes to to help the flour to go through but still 20% did not go through and remained inside the sifter. It is not practical. So I gave up using it. I will not use it again. I have used the item once. If the seller could replace it with coarser shifter, I would really appreciate. Otherwise, I will never buy from this seller again.

Perfect!

I bought this to sift out some of the bran from the flour after grinding wheat. It is such a fine sieve that it works perfectly, maybe even a little too well as I ended up having to add some bran back in the flour was so fine!
