WOW!
As an avid purchaser of Amazon, I think this might be my first review, but I feel I had to write one. I gotta tell you, I love these boots. Being from Wyoming I've had dozens and dozens of pairs of cowboy boots for both riding/working on the place and also for dress boots. I'm cheap, and tend not to take the best care of my boots, so in the past I've tended to buy boots in the $150 to $200 range. I'm really glad I splurged just a little more to buy these boots. I'm also the dude that could care less about style, but every time I wear these my wife looks down and says "damn, those are good looking boots". I can say bar none that these boots are the most comfortable I've ever worn. Yep, initially they were tough to get my foot into and out of, but that's common with a good boot. They're breakiing in well. Having said that, I've owned lots of boots that I take off as soon as I have an opportunity to do so. These boots I put em on, and keep em on. Incredibly comfortable boots. Living in Wyoming I also needed a sole that has some traction due to snow and ice. The little tread they have works way better than solely the leather soles. What's weird is my last few pairs of boots were very loud when walking on concrete or wood floors. The softer sole on these boots is much quieter. The ostrich is soft and has broken in quickly. I love the removable insole which is a must for me. Never have I owned a pair of Dan Post boots. If these boots hold up like I think they will then Dan Post will have my business for a long time.

Best Boots on the Market
Couldn't have asked for a better pair of authentic ostrich western boots. Design is perfect and fit is so comfortable. I absolutely recommend this company for the highest quality boots.

Beautiful
Wow - I've been looking at these boots for months and finally came up at a good price on Amazon. Appearance: With anything it's in the eye of the beholder, but the boots are gorgeous. The ostrich leather is first rate in quill pattern with no visible marring. The color is exactly what I had envisioned with a deep chocolate brown and matches product image exactly. I'm not a flashy dressing guy and that was my fear with the "loud" ostrich pattern. These boots are impressively understated. They look like boots which are twice the cost. Couldn't be happier Fit: A lot has been said about the fit and to me they fit exactly as expected. Based on my experience, they run smaller than Justin boots. My Go-To boot had been Twisted X and Boulet - which fit my foot perfectly as an 11D. Justin's I'm a 10.5D. I ordered the 11D and they fit great. A little loose in the heel, but not bad. The 10.5 would have been too small. In my opinion these boots run true to size and fit the way most brands 11D fit. Comfort: Good Lord these are a cross between a slipper and a running shoe. The soft strike sole makes you feel like you're walking on a padded floor. It's my first pair of ostrich - so maybe not unusual but they're light and the leather seems to just wrap your foot in comfort. There doesn't appear to be a "break in" period. The only thing the could do is get more comfortable I guess. This is an all-day - all-knight boot, not a pair that you look forward to pulling off when you get home. Quality: First pair of Dan Post boots as well and as far as craftsmanship they're perfect. Had been eyeing a pair of Lucchese boots and there is no difference in the manufacturing quality. There are no lose threads. The welt is trimmed perfectly. As I said earlier the ostrich hide is flawless. The boot shaft is a quality soft and supple leather also with perfect stitching and design. Last Words: It's been a long time since I've bought a pair of boots that I liked this much out of the box. Usually I'm wondering if they'll break in right, or if my foot will get used to them or if I'll give up after a few hours and they'll end up in the back of my closet only to be worn on occasion. The Alamosa is an absolutely top quality, well engineered and built boot that delivers on comfort as much as it does looks. I'll update as I wear them and add a durability section to the review - but these boots have become my daily boots the minute I slipped them on. Buy with confidence.

Top Quality Fit and Finish
Highest Quality Western Boot I've ever owned. Color, Fit & Finish are perfect in every way. They provided all day comfort on day one. I have a wide foot so purchased in extra-wide, again, they fit true to size. I've owned Tony Lama, Ariat and Nacona in Caimen, Ostrich and Elephant. I like them all for different reasons but this pair of Dan Post are my favorite to date. Highly Recommend!

Quality not commensurate with price point.
The first pair I received had (1) a slit/tear in the leather on the shaft of one of the boots, (2) a small chip/chunk missing from the finish on the toe of one of the boots, (3) streaking (noticeable lines) in the dark brown glaze/finish of the boots, and (4) several rough spots in the edges of the leather upper and on the finished visible part of the heel (as if debris were under the painted/coated finish). The boots generally look very nice. I would have kept them, but I was afraid the slit/tear and/or the chip on the toe would get larger with wear. Due to the unique finish of the boots, I was not sure how I would fill in the chipped finish without it being noticeable. These defects would be bothersome even at a lower price point, but I may have kept them and been willing to accept the risk. At the $300-$400 price point, however, I couldn't. I exchanged them for another pair to see if they would be better on the second try. They were better, but still defective and not acceptable for the price point. The second pair had similar streaking/lines in the glaze/paint of the finish, but it was less noticeable. The deal breaker on the second pair was the fact that the toe of one of the boots was awkwardly cut and stitched so that the outer corner of the toe stuck out further than the inner corner. Instead of a square toe box with a flat tip, the toe on the left boot was more diagonal/slanted from left to right when looking down while wearing the boots. It probably would not have been very noticeable to others while walking, but it was clearly noticeable while standing still. Again, maybe acceptable at a much lower price point, but unacceptable and not the quality expected at the $300 to $400 range.
