Great Slipper - Make sure they fit.
What more can you ask from a basic, non-point slipper? The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that in other Capezio ballet shoes I have owned, the sewing used to adhere the leather soles eventually deteriorated until the soles fell off (after a few months - we'll see how the Romeo hold up). Tips: 1. Buy ballet shoes that FIT your feet. They should be snug enough to point in them and not have them flop around and not so tight they hurt your toes. If you have wide feet, buy the wide size. My feet are so wide I am practically part duck; when I wore shoes that were too narrow I experienced serious pain. Slippers that don't fit will damage your feet and increase your risk of injury. Start choosing the right size now, if you don't, when you begin point you will find yourself at a higher risk of developing arthritis, plantar fasciitis, and other serious ailments. 2. The shoes still don't fit? This is why I buy leather, because you can make them fit: Step One: Choose a day where you have some time to kill and take the shoes and soak them in warm water for a few minutes while you eat a packet of seasoned seaweed thins (so good, I'm eating them while writing this). Step Two: Put on the shoes and wear them while you punish your brain with some television or expand it with a good book. The shoes will form to your feet and will be adjusted perfectly to each foot and it's unique characteristics (thus no longer ambidextrous). 3. Sew on your straps with upholstery sewing thread, or even better, industrial-strength thread. Don't even think about using the hair-thin garbage they sell in sewing kits and fabric shops - it is designed to hold a loose-fitting sweater on your grandmother's shoulders, not a vicious black ballet shoe on your gnarled man hooves. 4. When they are new they will stick, don't worry about stuffing them in rosin or getting them wet. I doused them and then ground them in rosin like a pestle in a mortar then tried to do a pirouette... it was a bad idea.

Light, Comfortable Ballet Shoe
Update: Some re-sewing of the straps and adjustment of the drawstring elastic seem to have largely solved the rolling problem -- that, or else, it may just take a little while for these shoes to conform to weird feet. At any rate, it's much better now, though I'd still really like to see them in a narrow size. One more thing: considering that these are little slips of shaped leather and elastic, I find that the arch support is stellar. Durability also seems good. These have now been doing three classes a week for the past couple of months, and they're in great shape. Upgraded to five stars. --Original Review-- I should begin by saying that my feet are somewhat hard to fit -- narrow, with high arches and insteps and very narrow heels. This means that while the fore-aft fit of these slippers is pretty much spot-on, the lateral fit is a bit iffy for me. The elastic around the top allows for a fair amount of adjustment, but I still have some issues with my shoes rolling off at the heel when stretching on the floor (in class, this is not a disaster, but it can be distracting). They can also feel a wee bit squirrely on turns sometimes. However, I really think that's a function of my feet, and not the shoes. Mine came with the straps sewn in; I may try re-sewing them to see if that helps. Other than that, these shoes are pretty stellar. The leather is light, butter-soft, and sufficiently flexible to keep up with my very-flexible feet. The fit in the arch feels really nice. The split-sole design offers reinforcement and additional grip where you need it (the grip can actually be a bit much on some surfaces when they're brand new; expect to stick to marley a bit). Durability seems to be good, though I haven't been using them long enough to say for certain. I do think these might run a little large. I normally wear a 41 or a 42 in Euro sizes, so I ordered an 8.5; I'm wondering if going with an 8 instead might have resolved the problem in question. Eventually, I plan to purchase a pair in size 8; if that and/or re-sewing the straps resolves the issues I've been having, I will definitely upgrade my rating to 5 stars. Oh, yeah. They also look great. For me, that's a good motivator -- I feel like I need to live up to the promise my equipment makes :)

Perfect fit
I bought these because I have bouts of peripheral neuropathy in my feet brought on by Multiple Scelrosis. In my case this frequently comes in the form of hyper nerve sensitivity in my feet. Terrible when going to bed and the bedding, soft as it might be, causes the sensation of constant electrical shocks to my feet. I've tried diabetic compression socks, which can help, but then I was going to 2 pair to dull the sensation to a tolerable level - and then that didn't work completely. One night it got so bad I put on my tennis shoes w. the socks and slept in them (under the covers). It worked great for my feet, but needless to say the sheets and bedding were a tangled mess in the morning. So I thought maybe I need a smooth slipper of some sort. I couldn't find any that were soft enough, nor that would actually stay on my feet all night. That leads to the Capezio Mens leather Ballet shoes! Not sure why / or how I came across them, but they are super soft leather, with small felt pads inside at the heel and ball of the foot. They have an elastic ribbon at the heel that is used to secure them around the ankle, and an elastic drawstring at the front that can be used to secure the shoe further. That means 2 ways to adjust them to get them snug, or to loosen them as needed. The fact that they are leather means that they slide easily under the sheets and don't cause any friction on movement while sleeping. They have been a godsend. I considered the canvas version of the same shoe - but the lambskin in these is so soft it really was no contest. I hate taking prescriptions for any condition that can be addressed with a non pharmacological alternative. I used to take Lyrica for this condition but no longer need it. And BTW, my wife reminded me that we bought this brand of ballet shoes for our daughter when she took ballet...and how cute they were on her! I don't mind the ribbing, I just limit them to the bedroom...

nice slipper - weird sizes - obviously used
I wear an 11 US men's street shoe. In these slippers, the 13 Wide fits perfectly. Soft leather. The ones I received had been worn (visible scuffing of the sole, caked-on brown crud on one toe and a couple of bits of stuck-on glitter).

Extremely well made leather product
Have to order up around two sizes. Otherwise excellently made product. They are soft buttery leather so feels great. Price point is high but these are quality ballet slippers, not cheap imitations. The only slippers I wear now.

Good shoe but take care with sizing.
The shoes seems very good quality. As others have noted they fit on the small side. I wear 10.5 street shoes and got a 12 W size and these fit perfectly.
