Why in the world doesn't it come in brushed or satin finish?!!!

Perfect, smaller size and beautiful non-institutional design. Could install horizontally or vertically, or even on an angle. Did not install, but it seems sturdy. Sadly, I had to send it back, because shiny chrome finish would show water spots and mineral deposits badly. I can't understand why a mainstream US company like Delta wouldn't have this in at least one brushed or satin finish (nickel or stainless steel), like nearly every other manufacturer on the planet. It's not like this is a new trend - LOTS of folks have been using brushed finishes for years now, probably more than want old-fashioned and impractical shiny chrome. And Delta offers many other products in a brushed or satin finish. I would have given it 5 stars, if they had the other finish, but I am so annoyed by this issue I took off 2 stars, solely because of finish.

worth the money

This is my third handle because the looks, quality, and sturdiness is great. Make sure to catch a beam for extra strength. I never trust such items that have an Allen screw resting on a groove It's so easy for them to come loose once the Allen screw is loose. As a result, I modified it somewhat. I drilled a hole through the the threads and screwed the Allen all the way through. It will never come off now!

Trendy grab bar

Perfect for a grab bar near a toilet and has a trendy flare also. Needs to be anchored into studs to make it grab bar sturdy. Wallboard anchors come with it along with 1/4” lag bolts. If installed correctly the house would move before the grab bar would come off the wall. ????

Inadequate instructions

Maybe it's just my ineptitude. However, I found the installation instructions totally inadequate. You can read them on the product description website. For example, #5 "Remove the flange from the bar." The flange was never in the bar; it was in a separate package with the lug bolts and and hex key. The instructions did not say previously to put the flange into the bar. I assume that the instructions make sense to someone who has seen this done, but I was baffled by the description. (Why not have a video on a Delta website? Or the Liberty Hardware Manufacturing Corp web site in Thailand where this product is made? The instructions do not have any Delta or other brand name.) Why not include a template for drilling the holes instead of the 8-step instruction? This would, however, require a different template for each of the three different assist bars which are covered by this one instruction sheet. In short, this appears to be a multi-product re-branded instruction, My solution for mounting on 3" tile: I marked between tiles where the flange should be for the top of the bar. I used a heavy dry wall screw instead of the big lug bolt supplied to avoid ruining the tile. it is very firm. Because the bottom flange landed partly inside a tile no matter how placed, I fastened it to the tile with E6000 glue. The glue is usually strong, but if it gives out, then I might use epoxy or decide to drill into the tile. This arrangement should be good enough to help with keeping balance. Better that some assist bars, I assume, which just use suction. But not secure enough for full weight, so be cautious. The good aspect:s the bar itself is sturdy and has a nice appearance at a good price.

VERY happy with these

I have 4 of these now installed after installing one, and waiting long enough (a year) to see if it would rust or discolor. It has held up perfectly - looks brand new - so I got 3 more and love them. They are deceptively functional - not knurled, but VERY easy to grip and they provide a VERY good sense of security. I have mine mounted horizontally - and with the arc at the top - like a 'hill.' VERY well built with all the hardware you need to mount - whether with stainless lag bolts, or banjo/wing bolts. If you don't know what's behind the tile, start with a smaller hole and see if the lag bolts have something to adequately bite into. If they do - the easier solution. If after drilling you don't feel anything for them to bite into (wood would be great), then go with the larger holes needed for the banjo/wing bolts. My humble advice.

Great, beautiful and functional product. Needs better mounting hardware in drywall.

Very attractive looking product. It is not big, thick or cumbersome. It is functional. It can be mounted on walls on one or both sides of the toilet in the toilet cubby, in the shower, or on the wall. It mounts most anywhere. Also, I purchased these is "like new" condition and paid about $13.00. This was a $6. savings. They looked new, but must have been returned. There were no missing parts In the vertical, it easily mounts to one stud securely. However, horizontal mounting is a little more difficult. Most likely one side or the other may be mounted in a wood wall stud if you are lucky. If placement is essential, then you may be mounting both sides into drywall. It would be nice to have a better system than molly screws.

Non institutional look

My wife had knee surgery and needed some handholds in the bathrooms. I bought two and installed them at the best spots. She did not want institutional looking bars and so is happy with them. Hand towels can be hung on them to deflect from the fact that they are helper bars.
