pleased with costume but 2 things worth mentioning...

My 3-year old son loves this costume - he is so excited to be Batman. The fit is as expected, I purchased a toddler size and followed the size chart guidelines. Two things worth mentioning - the costume snags easily so be very careful with the Velcro. I have not washed it but I would recommend washing it alone so no other Velcro snags it in the wash. My son has already had the costume on twice however, and it still looks great. The belt is a large yellow plastic piece that is attached to the costume. It looks cute however, on either side, part of it extends (not secured to the costume). There is a fabric piece on the belt so I simply added a few stitches on each side to secure it to the body of the costume and around my son's waist. I enjoy sewing so I did not mind doing this. However, I thought it was worth mentioning as I know not everyone would want to do this and for anyone ordering close to Halloween, this may not be desirable. All the pieces were in the packaging as expected (suit, cape and hat are one piece) I think it is worth the price, I have seen this costume for $35 on other sites so I was pleased to pay on $26 and change.

The kid wanted to be Batman this year. I was kind of over all the Dark Knight style Batman costumes. Of course I'm the rare person who actually loved BatCloon. I also didn't want a costume that looked cheap. I knew I couldn't get a cosplay level costume but I also knew Rubies has always made really amazing products so I felt really confident choosing this amazing vintage Batman costume. And I was right. It turned out to be SO awesome. The costume fit really well and looks like he may be able to wear it again next year. It was a hit at his dad's work. The mask is attached to the cape and the mask fit really well where he could breathe well and see well which was a must. I wanted him to be comfortable. The feet have a strap to put around your shoe so it stays secure and isn't a tripping hazard. All in all, we were absolutely thrilled with this costume and hope to use it for future conventions as well as next Halloween.

Great for Halloween

This costume is great for Halloween, it’s not meant to last long. The wrists are very tight and my little one cannot get their hands out without help. The muscles look good. The belt is flimsy, there are loose threads, it’s floppy, but my child loves it. It will fall apart soon, but that’s ok.

I really like this costume and my son thought it was awesome too. I had a hard time trying to decifer what was going on with the sizing because there are 3 charts to go by!!!! i ended up reading all the reviews to try to figure which size we needed. hopefully this will help someone else... my son will be 5 in a month and he is 47 pounds and 95th percentile on height. I got the small costume because the other choice was supposed to fit a 7 year old! The small just fit him. It's a perfect fit for now, but i know he will outgrow it very quickly. I would have really liked to have had a clearer idea of sizing. i had hoped he would be able to play with this for a while to come. The costume is pretty nice and well made compaired to other costumes. The muscle chest is rather stiff so i had to put some fabric in there to keep it from rubbing his neck. However, it looks great on and all the kids really liked it.

Batman goes above and Beyond!

This costume was and still is a phenomenal choice for a young boys costume. My son was in love with batman so he chose to be him when he was almost 3. and he looked stellar, and he wore the costume- I'm not kidding almost everyday for siz monthes and the costume held up- it is made of great quality and will not fail you! And the muscles omg they will just make you melt! Any other batman costume with no muscle chest will look sad in comparison. sometimes my son just wore the mask or just the cape or the two together but when a two year old is so excited that he is getting himself dressed into a costume all by himself- you know its a winner. BY the way, my son loved it so much that we ended up buying the same costume the very next year in a size up!! AND after that, we ended up creating a superhero roman with batman fatheads all over- so beware it could create a new super hero crazed little man of your own!

Looks great, but is apparently uncomfortable

Bought this for my 4 yr old, and he was so excited for it to arrive. However, he was fairly unhappy once he put it on. He says the wrists are very itchy, and the inside is lined with some kind of foam/mesh combo that does seem kinda rough. The legs were pretty long. And the chest is not padding, it's like a hard foam that isn't super flexible. So overall, it looks nice, but doesn't feel great. I'll doctor up the wrists and legs to make it more comfortable, we'll still keep it.

Keep your money

I’ve disliked this costume since the day it arrived but my 3 year old enjoys it. The arms are way too tight & the fake muscles in the front literally push into his neck and chest. He’s only worn it a handful of times and the sleeves already look like they are falling apart. This is the most uncomfortable and not child friendly costume we’ve ever purchased and it was pricey. I’m very disappointed in the quality of it.

Difficulties of ordering online. Nice costume though.

I'm on my third one of these. The first one only had the mask, cape, and belt. The belt on that one was a bulky plastic detachable belt. The second one was waaay too small despite following the size chart. That one had a plastic half belt attached as part of the costume. We ordered a size up for the third one and this one is an entirely different type. The belt on this one is a soft foamy cloth one that ties on. This one is way too big. I'm just going to keep it though because I'm tired of returning them! It must be a different manufacturer depending on which seller it's coming from? Probably this third model in the size down would be perfect. If you are returning for a different size, I would recommend ordering from the same seller so hopefully the sizing is the same.

Be gentle with the fabric, it will rip!

I bought this costume for my 6 year old son. The first time he put it on, the back at the bottom where it does up, ripped. The arms length were great but were extremely tight, thus causing us to tug on the fabric some more just to get it on. I found the fabric to be a little too thin. I made sure to get the proper size based on the chart, plus some, as I know some items may fit smaller than expected. The mask went on his head but the eyes don’t line up with his actual eyes! Make sure to order bigger sizes (way bigger)!! The cape is awesome- he uses that for dressing up with other masks he previously had. All around, a little cheaply made.

Holy costumes batman! Great quality

This batman outfit is excellent quality, my 3 year old loves running around in it and it has taken a good hammering with no obvious signs of wear. The sizing is pretty accurate too - my boy is quite tall so we got an age 5 and that fits just fine. It's great that it's the original batman outfit, my kids love the old batman movie and my boy loves being batman. The cape fixes under the chin with a bit of velcro and the mask is attached to the cape. The mask itself is a bit small but it's ok if you pull it down over the face. Even the utility belt is good quality. I have had several rubie's costumes and they are always excellent quality - worth paying that bit extra for as they give hours of great play.

Not up to standard

These outfits are so badly sized. We first of all received a large which we didn't order, and the length would have fit a 13 year old but not the width. (My son is 3) Due to reading all the other reviews I ordered an age 5-7 as most reviews said the the age 3-4 was so small. My son got this for his 3rd birthday. The age 5-7 is far too long even for my 7 year old nephew!! We then ordered the 3-4 even thought the reviews said they were small because the 5-7 would have fit a 10 year old (in height!) but even the age 3-4 there is not enough give in the arms. For example, the wrists are fairly tight fitting and don't leave a lot of room for growth, yet the legs would fit him until he's at least 5years old. The same with the velcro at the back, it is already starting to pull and strain so I doubt they will last much longer. My son is only 3 yrs 4 mths now so he hasn't had more than 4 months out of this outfit. Also, the muscles are SO BIG, that my son actually hates wearing the suit anyway because he can't play with anything else while wearing the suit. The muscles keep pushing up under his chin and he keeps saying its hurting him. We have the same problem with the Superman outfit in the same size (age 3-4). I don't recommend these outfits, especially for broad children as my son is considered slim build and the lengths and widths of these items are so way off the mark. My son does however completely love the cape and mask and would recommend if you can find these anywhere on their own, they are well worth buying. The belt is not very good at staying on either and is a hazard when it slips down in my opinion. If I have to buy again, I will be buying the batman/superman outfits with no muscles as my nephews are a much better fit.

Super beau costume! Livraison rapide!

Super beau costume! Mon garçon habille tout juste du 3 ans et il est un peu grand (taille du costume est 3-4) mais avec un manteau en dessous et les pantalon roulés au niveau du genou (pour pouvoir conserver la portion bleue de la jambe de Batman), c'est parfait! :-)
