Light bright with a drill and screws.

Great idea, kids love using the drill to place the screws. THE DRAWBACK… the drill requires an adapter for the drill to place or remove the bolts. The adapter is the same color as the screws and easily gets lost in the bolts. Without the adapter the drill is of no use. Why not just make the end fit the bolts. Photo #3. Find the adapter!

So good for toddlers

After using this toy with my son's early childhood teacher, I had to get one! My son loves drilling like his papa and the light up feature is another bonus! I gave this as a Christmas gift, and he couldn't wait to play. My only complaint is it really goes through the batteries, but he does love it.

Fun but not that Bright

My kiddos really liked this set but they barely noticed the Brite lights on this. Only when the room was dark did it illuminate the screws just a little, to me it was not worth replacing the batteries that barely lit up the screws. Plus, my kiddos barely noticed it and just used the screws to design their pattern and whatnot. It is a nice idea and kiddos liked it overall.

Fun toy for the kids

We received a gift drill set from the same company a while back and my then 3-year-old loved playing with it. We got this light-up bolt set because my wife always wanted a familiar light-up toy back in the 90s and we liked the combination of screwing in bolts and lighting up simultaneously. This toy is easy to set up, the bolts are large, and the socket is easy to connect. My now 4 year and 2-year-old daughters really enjoyed playing this with me. They took turns, counted the bolts, and identified colors, and we'll try to work on patterns. My 2yo also drew on the surface with washable marker and it came off easily, so that's a plus. The toy uses 3 AAA batteries for the base and 2 AA batteries for the drill. Both require a small Philips head screwdriver to open. Some things to consider: The bolt needs to be perfectly lined up with the threading. If it isn't, it will keep clicking and my 4yo was starting to lose interest until I showed her exactly how to do it. Adult supervision is recommended under 5, I think. The torque on the driver is very weak. The kids noticed the bolts were not very secure so they hand-tightened all of the bolts. The driver was unable to reverse them. I had to hand-loosen all of them in order to get the drill to extract them. They give you 50 bolts but the slot only has 49 holes. For storage, I'd just keep them all in the board, but one lonely bolt has to sit out. I wish they gave you 7 bolts of 7 colors rather than 10 bolts of 5 colors I would recommend playing in a room that's dimmable. Since it lights up, you want it dark enough to see the bolts light up, but light enough that you can see what you're doing, since I don't think the drill lights up. In summary, a wonderful toy if you have a kid who would love this type of activity and you'll get plenty of playtime out of it, especially if you engage with your kids this way

Kept my granddaughter busy for an hour!

My 5 year old granddaughter sat on the floor playing with this for more than an hour. She loves that the drill turns the bolts with a push of the button. Challenging for her to get all the bolts in. Requires 2 double A and 3 triple A batteries not included. Ready to play after batteries are installed, no assembly required. The plastic bolts are brightly colored and fit into holes on the base. The drill can turn right and left to unscrew with the flip of a button. I wish there was a storage container included to keep the bolts, drill, and base together after playing. I can foresee bolts getting lost unless they are kept in the base.

Great for all ages

I got this toy for my three-year-old son. It's not only a lot of fun for him, but it's fun for me to play with him too. The screws are on the large side which makes them nice and easy for my son to control and work with, and the drill is also easy enough for him to operate. The light inside of the board is pretty bright towards the center of it, but it gets duller the closer you go to the edge. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts in the board or the drill yet, but if either seem to have a short lifespan I'll ensure to update my review. If you don't see an update, you'll know that they've lasted a reasonable amount of time. All in all, I'm glad I ordered this one and would definitely recommend it.

Light up Screws

The media could not be loaded. Fun way for kids to use fine motor skills using screws that light up when drilled into the base. The package included plastic screws, drill bit and drill. 2 AA and 3 AAA batteries are needed, but not included. I wish the base was a little bigger to make larger designs, but overall it’s still fun for kids!
