Indistrial/Commercials strippers

I work as an industrial maintenance electrician. And coming from mostly residential and some commercial construction my favorite strippers were the rack-a-tiers crocs, but those just aren’t well suited for the tasks required by industrial electrical work. I probably own 10+ different pairs of strippers but these have proved the best fit for my needs. First the stainless steel stands up well in a corrosive environment. The food at our processing plant as well as many of the chemicals are acidic and will tear your tools up. Second I like the wide range of wire I can strip from 20ga control wire up to #8 solid. Anything bigger I strip with a razor knife. The screw cutters don’t really get used much but the crimpers are enough to save me having to run back to the shop to make one crimp and the grips are excellent. If you look closely there are a ton of strippers out there with the exact same tool set but they all have short handles. These long handles coke all the way up to the pivot point and really help give you some leverage to strip wire. All in all these have performed flawlessly for over a year now and have l probably be ordering another pair or two befor they get discontinued or something.

Sharp.

These strippers are sharp and all accessories work perfectly! Mostly used in commercial low voltage installations but, work fine on electric wiring as well up to 10 gauge.

This is the 6th pair of these I have purchased from various locations. Great tool, I just seem to keep losing them.

Great GB quality and build!

Gardner Bender continues to build quality tools for the professional. The only thing that could make it better in my opinion, is a return spring and a closing lock.

Love this tool!

I had lost my last pair and it was like losing a right hand. The strippers, cutters and crimpers are great. The best thing I love about these are the screw cutters. They cut cleanly and I have no problem starting a cut screw into threads. The other brand pliers that have screw cutters on them, leave jagged edges at the cut Very good product!

best wire stripper ever

Being in the trades for over 40 years and having had tried probably all other brands of wire strippers, this is by far the best stripper I have ever purchased. I have replaced this pair several times only because of it being lost or stolen. I have tried so many others in which I feel I just wasted my money because none other are as comfortable with these features. Simple, practical design and so good to use all day every day!

Insurmountable quality!

I’ve never had a professional set of wire tools like this, and have been using the cheapies that come with electronic kits and tail light repair sets, my entire life until this moment. These cut with ease, and make stripping wire for household projects a snap. The wire jacket simply slides away, after being cut with the appropriate gauge indicated on the cutters blade. Very pleased! Saves a lot of time, and no more cutting and re-cutting to get things right.

My go-to wire strippers.

I'm an electrician by trade, these are one of the best strippers available. Being stainless steel, they last many times longer than a standard pair. In fact, I lost my first pair after 3 years, and they were still plenty sharp at that point! The ergonomics are also fantastic. There are only 2 things keeping this from a perfect rating in my book. The first is the lack of a locking mechanism. When sitting in a tool pouch the spring keeps them open, which leaves the spring vulnerable to being popped out of place when removing or replacing other tools. The other thing is that I'd also like to see them strip up to #10 AWG. other than that, they're great!

Strips cable sheathing and individual wires with no nicks

Could not find this in any hardware stores to replace one I have been using for years that got damaged. This is by far the best as it can strip sheathing off 12 and 14 gage and the individual wires without any nicks or damage to the wires.

Really good strippers are worth their weight...

I lost my last set of GB's and had a couple of other sets around that just didn't live up to the demands. Had to get another pair. The business end being stainless steel, they stay sharp forever, my last set were 7 yrs old and going on strong with medium usage when I lost them 2 months ago. I'm not an electrician, but do a fair chunk of stripping. Get 'em.

Love the feel

This is my second pair and only because I got them for work, my others are at home. I have big hands and have been shocked because of touching the metal part of the wire stripper by accident. Its no issue with these. They are comfortable and the handles are long enough that I don't have to worry about shocking myself.
