Original part, fit and works great.
I replaced my now-warped 15-year-old door flap in my GE fridge dispenser. I also replaced this spring on the flap arm. Fit perfect and works great, no more "snow" inside the dispenser chute from moist air entering past an old flap with a weak closing spring.

Fixed my ice dispenser problems. Please be careful when removing plastic trim panel
My GE Hotpoint model no: HSS25IFMD WW fridge used to have the problem of the freezer ice door flapper not closing properly after ice was dispensed. This would cause a a slight defrost effect inside the freezer and cause problems dispensing ice. I went ahead and replaced the solenoid, ice door flapper, and door recess spring, since at the time I did not know what exactly was causing the problem and they were relatively inexpensive repairs. These repairs resolved my problems with the ice dispenser! Warning - It will be necessary to remove the plastic trim panel covering the screws to the components that need to be replaced. Please be careful when removing this panel, as I did not do it carefully, got extremely pissed in the process, and cracked the panel. I had to rig the plastic panel to get it to snap back into the fridge after the repair.

An easy fix for my drippy ice maker. Works like a charm now.

Get a solenoid along with this spring.
New spring added "some" better closure but not total. So, If you are replacing this spring (unless obviously broke) go ahead and replace the solenoid at the same time. You're there already and just 3 more screws. Wish I knew ahead of time. It now has that old thump sound once again, knowing that little hatch door is shut tight.

Spring works
I could have used the old spring when replacing parts of the door latch, but since I had the door handle apart, why not also change the spring. Fits perfectly like the old one. Everything works fine. Priced right.

Fits Perfectly
I was replacing the ice dispenser solenoid on my GE refrigerator and figured I should go ahead and replace this too. The old one feels like it still has the same tension, but did have some scale built up on it. Came in GE packaging and fit perfectly.
