I had put off buying a cat tree because they are expensive considering they are designed for cats to tear apart. I have bought all kinds of cat scratchers, toys, and beds. In the end, as I am sure other cat owners can attest, I needed a cat tree and there was just no way around it. She needed to climb and she needed somewhere to hang out away from the dog. So, I broke down and started shopping for cat trees. My frugal nature drew me to the cheapest ones, but the reviews on many of them were not fabulous. This cat tree was not the cheapest, but it was on sale when I bought it and the reviews were good. The product was delivered very quickly and it was packaged very well. It was waiting for me on my doorstep when I got home from work today. All of the pieces were there and everything was in excellent condition. The instructions are just pictures like all instructions are nowadays, but they were very straightforward and easy to follow. The packaging includes an Allen wrench with a Philips head on one end so that is all you need, no other tools required. I will say that with a couple of the areas that required the Philips head, I would probably have been better off getting out my own screwdriver, but it was late and I didn't want to dig for it. The one they provided did the job, it was just short and being attached to an allen wrench, sometimes it was hard to get leverage. I am not generally very good at putting things together and only the love for my cat could have gotten me to do it as soon as the box came rather than procrastinating, but this went together very easily and I didn't swear at it once, which is practically a miracle. There was only one frustrating bit where the cat house gets screwed on, but I think if I had a second person to help that may have gone easier (you have to screw the cat house part into the third leg of the base so you can't see where the screw is going). Overall, not difficult at all. This cat tree is very sturdy. It's diamond design base lends itself to being put in a corner, but it could really go anywhere. It doesn't wobble at all. The carpeting is very plush and looks very nice, it isn't that cheap carpeting that some use. I prefer the chocolate brown to the tan/beige ones that are the usual color. The sisal rope areas seem to be well attached. I am sure that my cat will tear them apart eventually since that is what they are made for, but I can see how I could get more and replace it without much trouble if necessary. The sizing listed in the description is correct, it is about 42" tall. I put it in a corner of my bedroom so I wouldn't have to sacrifice living room space and it does take up a whole corner so it isn't small width wise, but I think that this is necessary it order to have the platforms wide enough for cats to comfortably use, so I am not marking it down for that (especially because I understood the measurements when I bought it). The cat tree turned out exactly as pictured and my cat LOVES it. She is a one year old 7 lb tiger striped tabby and she was crawling all over it before I even got it all the way put together. She is full grown so she doesn't need to use the ladder and when I was putting it together, I really just thought she might use it as an extra scratcher, but she likes to use the ladder to go up through and into the house, so I just thought that was kind of neat. I know that the little hanging toy on the side will get destroyed pretty quick, she has had those before and they are just held on with elastic, but that is okay, I have replaced those types of toys on other scratchers and even though she destroys them, that is the fun. The other toy is a rope and it is well constructed so I will be interested to see how long that lasts. It has a wooden knob on one end that screws into the cat tree, so I don't suppose that would be replaceable once she tears it to ribbons. The cat house part is a bit on the small side, but my cat loves curling up in tiny spaces so this suits her. She is very long, so once she is inside, she has to wrap herself into a loop, but that is what she prefers anyway. I could see how if you had a very big fluffy cat, it might be a squeeze. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and feel like this cat tree is a very good value. I will update this review for wearability as time goes on, but I have to say it seems like a very good product just from the beginning. The next time I need to buy something like this, I will definitely look for Go Pet Club products.
