Arrived fast, worked fine

I ordered this cylinder head to replace the one on my mid-aughts 18 HP Briggs OHV engine which had developed an issue with the valves. When it became clear that a simple adjustment wasn't going o cut the mustard, I started searching for replacement options. I quickly discovered that Briggs sells these cylinder head replacement kits, and you can find them online from various vendors for between 140 and 190 bucks. The attraction here is that the valve assembly comes already in place in the cylinder head, with some added bits and pieces (gaskets & bolts) you will need to complete the fix. The only reason I knocked a star off my rating is that the flat surface of the cylinder head (which is mated to the engine block with a head gasket sandwiched in between) came with some slight imperfections left over from the casting at time of manufacture. Nothing too major: I was able to flatten the surface with some very fine emery paper. Once I had the old one off, putting this one on its place was pretty simple. Just gotta be careful to get the pushrods (which do NOT come with this kit) seated correctly and the valve clearances adjusted right as well. So make sure you have a feeler gauge, because that's what you need to get it right. Also, watch a few of the how-to videos on YT and be sure you have the basics in your mind while you do it. There's a particular method for tightening the head bolts (sequence and torque settings) that is easy enough to find if you search for that info online.

Excellent quality

Excellent quality for a great price. My 15 year old Craftsman riding mover blew a head gasket. The head was worn and needed to be machined. It had a worn exhaust valve guide and intake seat needed to be cut as it was uneven. Probrably would have been around 100 dollars to repair it so i decided to purchase this new head for 132. Was skeptical about the quality as one review said the head had an uneven seat out of the box which is what my current head had, so i though this might be terrible machining from the factory. I was surprised to find that the head was actually very well machined as i checked the valves and seats by quickly lapping with 400 grit. Lap marks were nice and even and centered well on valve face. Also came with new head, exhaust and intake gasket. Although the intake gasket does not seem to fit properly but you cant beat it for the price.

Very Good for the money

I ended up trying to do a valve adjustment job myself and cost me 2 rods and a new top end. Luckily this part was an identical match and came with everything you need ( other than a steel and aluminum rod) for the job. ( John deere D110 ) Id say the downfall is the cast itself looks a little cheap and not very polished but I could care less what it looks like. 5 stars for me

Just what I needed!

My old engine had a bent push rod and rocker arm, so I purchased this replacement head and some new push rods. Replacement of the cylinder head went together easily. I had to modify my old sheet metal cooling shroud a bit with tin snips and I had to use some self-tapping screws in some of the holes on the new cylinder head, but no problems. I adjusted the valves to the specs. and the engine ran perfectly.

Fixed my mower, but not bolt on ready

OEM part that comes with all the gaskets you need. I reused the original hardware as the replacements weren't the same as original. I did have to tap new threads into the muffler mounting hole and one other hole as they came without threads! It was easy because the head is aluminium. Thankfully I had the correct tap, so be aware before you buy.

Expressversand in 4 Tagen!

Unser Gardol-Rasentraktor hatte ein Loch im Zylinderkopf und darf nicht lange ausfallen. Nach einer Preisrecherche war das Angebot vom Amazon Global Store US wegen einer Differenz von 70€ mein Favorit. Für den Global Store Expressversand kamen nicht ganz 10€ Zuschlag dazu, die sich gelohnt haben. Der Zylinderkopf wurde am Donnerstag Nachmittag bestellt und wurde am Montag Vormittag geliefert. Klasse! Nach ca. 90-minütigen Einbau und Einstellen des Ventilspiels schnurrte unser Mäher bereits am Montag Nachmittag wieder. Für das Ventilspiel gibt es leider auch Videos, die behaupten, dass sich der Einlass oben und der Auslass unten (im eingebauten Zustand) befindet. Dem ist nicht so! Einlass = unten / Auslass = oben Ich kann den Kauf ausnahmslos empfehlen und würde ihn auch wieder dort kaufen.

THIS WAS A BRAND NEW ITEM WHICH I WAS HAVING TROUBLE FINDING . IT ARRIVED A DAY BEFORE THEY CALLED IT TO AND WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS ADVERTISED . WELL DONE EVERYBODY INVOLVED !
