Helmet seems fine.

Needed a helmet quick. It’s comfortable, easily adjustable and performs well. Batteries can be replace easily and was ready to go out of the packaging.

Darkening issue resolved

Helmet would darken indoors with an incandescent 60 watt bulb but not outdoors looking at the sun. Other purchasers returned theirs after failing the common sun test. Contacted Hobart. They said the sensors were new X mode technology as shown on the Miller website (Hobart and Miller are owned by the same company). "Electromagnetically senses the weld to eliminate sunlight interference and continuously detects the arc even if sensors are blocked." Tried it stick welding. Worked great! Not 5 star review because they ought to explain how the sensors work in the owners manual.

Awesome

Very pleased with helmet. 76 years old I was using a HFT helmet. I was welding blind. Could not see work piece or weld puddle. Like driving blind. Using my prescription reading glasses and this Hobart helmet I am able to lay down a nice bead.

Love this helmet

Love this helmet compared to my old one, auto dark works great, like the large view window, like the color of lens, great coverage, lightweight, all in all a good helmet for a novice/intermediate welder.

Great hood

So far I love the hood! I have had no issues with the auto-dark or any functions and I've already burnt through 1000s of rod with it. It has a good weight, isn't flimsy, and the camo rocks!
