Fits to size as advertised
Great product, if you are looking for a quieter filter this ids the one. We had the paper replacement filters and they are made cheap paper. This filter will trap more debris and reduces the intake noise .

Noisy
I like K&N products, but this filter is very noisy when the Heater/AC is running. My second complaint is that the filter came with what looks like wood screws. Not sure what you are suppose to do with them. When I installed this filter in the cold air-intake which is in the hallway ceiling, when the Heater/AC turn on, the filter gets sucked up and then when the fan shuts off, the filter falls down against the cold air grate. I ended up screwing some tech screws to take up the gap so the filter can no long move up and down, but it sounds like an airplane running and I will probably return for that reason. Sorry K&N, with the plastic frame and the noise dB this filter is not for me.

I love not having to waste filters. It looks like it will hold up. I havent washed it yet so hopefully its easy to clean.

Time will tell how well it performs and cleans
I have used automotive grade K&N filters for years both for fluids and air. I was very curious to try this new offering for my home HVAC system. Size wise this 14x24x1 filter is just a hair smaller than the disposable MERV 12 filters I have been using offered by 3M. I concur with most reviewers who mentioned that this may not be ideal if you have a ceiling mounted filter register as this filter does not really fit very snug. It is also quite a bit heavier than a typical HVAC filter. It's made out of a very similar material compared to the automotive grade filters and has a metal reinforcement on the back end. The edge is a plastic shell which felt a bit flimsy. I may need to add some extra padding on one side in order to avoid letting unfiltered air through the system. There is about half an inch gap on one side for my specific wall mounted filter register. This filter is MERV 11 rated and this should be sufficient for most home needs unless you have some severe allergies to very small particles. I will revise the review after I have cleaned the filter once or twice with thoughts on how easy or hard it is to clean and how well does it clean up after some use. We tend to go through filters every 3 months or so when we do use the HVAC system, so this test will take a little while. Given the cost around $40 for this reusable 14x24x1 MERV 11 filter, it should take me about a year to realize any savings compared to a standard disposable MERV 11 filter.

Almost perfect
Works excellent- essentially exactly as it should, on paper. Excellent value over competing products and who doesn't trust KN except folks who don't know how to oil a filter and ruin their car's MAFs. My only wrinkle is after rinsing, it was slow to dry, and that's in the florida sun. I'll probably try using a hair dryer next time.

Works great
I've been using one of these for about 3 years. I like it so much I bought another for the rental property. Easy to use and easy to clean. Cheap way to make sure my furnace doesn't burn up. One small down side is the plastic frame doesn't seal well so I added some foam weather stripping to the filter box.

Great quality, sturdy
We just cleaned our reusable AC filter after having it for a few months (yikes). It was rather dirty but has done a really great job filtering out all the junk. After spraying with the K&N cleaner I washed it outside with the shower spray option on our hose sprayer. It probably needed a little scrubbing to get the last few pieces of dust that was trapped in between the accordioned/dirty side. After it was dry (or mostly dry) I sat down with a glasses screwdriver and gently scraped the last few bits of dust out. Took just a few minutes and while it doesn’t look brand new, I never expected it to. I took my blow dryer and turned it over to the wired side to blow off any excess that I may have missed, then sprayed it with the K&N spray again and blow dryer that till it was dry (like 30 seconds) and put it back in place. Happy customer. We’ll see how it long it lasts but it’s already paid for itself.

Merv 11 is great filtration rating. No brainer purchase I bought two so I can clean one while having one in. I just rotate them every 3 months.
