Works good for now. No other compatible options out there.

Replaced leaky cartridge in Glacier Bay shower handle. Installed quickly but the hot and cold were reversed. I had to reinstall the cartridge upside down for this to work. This doesn't look right based on the tab locations on the cartridge, but it did the trick.

Amazon and DANCO save the day!

So far so good! Replacing the cartridge was beyond my abilities- I don't have an extra large plumber's wrench and with my luck I'd lose track of the layers and wind up with 'extra parts'. But I did save $ by getting this part instead of paying my plumber to. I bought it on Wed, it was promised by Friday and it arrived by 3pm with Prime. This part worked in my circa 2015 Glacier Bay / Home Depot SHower faucet. I'm having to return or eat the cost of the previous Danco part tho,10321 didn't work for me, maybe it's more of a sink faucet part. I bought the other model without the long needle/nose whatever you call the post sticking out to connect under the faucet handle. I wish I had thought to look at my old cartridge and realize I needed this part with the same long needle in the first place. This was Not available at Home Depot even tho it's a replacement for their Glacier Bay brand, and Lowe's certainly didn't have it, so Amazon is a great way to purchase if you know what you need. Saved me a pricey specialty order. The plumber was even talking about ripping out tile if we couldn't get the part before this guy showed up, whew!

Worked fine, here's a low pressure tip too.

Worked fine for my Glacier Bay shower faucet. Here is a tip for those that still experience low hot water pressure after changing this out. After installing the new cartridge I still had almost no hot water pressure. So I found out the brass shower valve in the wall had screw in shutoff valves. You will see one on each side that is slotted so a flathead screwdriver can turn it. I tightened each one then loosened to its stop point. When I turned the cold water valve it was smooth, I next turned the hot water valve and it was rough because it was breaking scale up in the valve as it tightened. I then turned it counter clockwise and it turned smoothly. Next I turned the shower on and I had excellent pressure on the hot side! That scale was causing my low pressure. Hope this helps somebody with the same problem. I had turned the water off to the whole house to change the cartridge, not knowing those little valves are all you need to use to turn it off at the shower. Some brands don't have these shutoffs, luckily the Glacier Bay does. I attached a picture of the shutoff valves.

Easy fix but pay attention to detail if you're a novice like me ;)

Perfect, exact replacement for my 10-year-old glacier bay shower faucet cartridge, as advertised. Easy installation, only basic tools needed (philips head screwdriver, water pump pliers, allen wrench). The only caveat is that the cartridge arrived partially disassembled. Basically there's really only one right way for the parts to assemble so it's not a big deal to figure out, but if you're not familiar with these units (like me) it may take some head-scratching. I somehow inverted part of the assembly, installed it, turned on the water, and the hot came out first (COLD should always come out first). So I just took it apart again, saw the error and reassembled and reinstalled, works perfectly now. The important thing here is that it technically IS possible for it to go together incorrectly, so pay attention. When installed, the handle should operate smoothly, not with a "clicky" movement, as mine did initially. Sure beats calling a plumber.

Life saver

This thing worked to perfection, I was getting the house ready for renter, attempted to repair, took it apart and my old one came apart in a bunch of pieces l, I shut the water off. And went to Home Depot, Lowe’s, Ace hardware, no one carried it not even close, check Amazon and found it annnnndddddd it was available same day!!!! Wow saved the whole weekend, one of the best situations came in a few hours and repaired it in minutes…..

Exact Match for Glacier Bay Model 12872

In my application, this was an exact perfect match replacement cartridge for my (Home Depot) Glacier Bay Model 12872. If you are unsure of the model number of your faucet, then check inside the wall plate that covers the faucet. On mine, (circa 2010 ish) Glacier Bay placed a small label. The small label only has the numbers 12872 on it. It also had a second label inside the cover that reads Global Union Model F1AA4535BNV if that helps break the code. Also, both the old and new cartridges themselves had the identifier“HL-40” on it. Bottom line: This cartridge was a perfect match replacement cartridge for my Glacier Bay Model 12872 shower faucet which prior to the repair was no longer delivering hot water. All good now. A very easy and inexpensive DIY repair.
