Not LEGO quality instructions.
This kit is fun but not up to the standards I’m used to with LEGO products. The kit is rated for 5 year olds but I’d suggest a 6 year old at the earliest that is very good with building. The kit also says that there is 106 pieces. When you open the kit - 6 of those pieces are already assembled for you! More like 100 pieces - 1 person - fully assembled - would be 3 pieces. (2 unaccounted) 4 tires come fully assembled - would be 8 pieces. (4 unaccounted) Which makes this kit more like 100 pieces - 1 person - fully assembled - would be 3 pieces. (2 pieces I wouldn’t actually count) 4 tires come fully assembled - would be 8 pieces. (4 pieces I wouldn’t actually count) The pieces are placed in two larger bags - the bags aren’t labeled so in order to get started you have to open/empty both bags. LEGO usually has numbered bags so you can leave some bags closed as you work. The stickers are already placed on the pieces - I kind of like this as I don’t have to worry about making sure they go on straight! Something that is unusual to me is that in the Instructions, they change the color of the dots on the pieces - this is supposed to help identify where the new piece will go but it also makes makes it confusing, until you get used to it. I do like that you can transform the box into a ramp. It’s nice to be able to use the materials and have it encouraged for on going play. It states that these pieces are compatible with major brands. The pieces are good quality.

Fun car to play with
This is the first Hot Wheels building block set I have bought for my son. Up until now I have only purchased LEGO. There are just over one hundred pieces and compared to LEGO, that is a better price point. In the pack, you get more bricks for the money compared to LEGO. Many $9.99 sets of LEGO in my experience have less than one hundred pieces Of course that will vary depending on types and sets with LEGO. But for the most part it seems like we get less bricks in LEGO sets for the money. The pieces are different. They feel a bit different and they have a different finish. They are still lightweight and small. Most definitely comparable in size. Fit wise and construction I have to say is below LEGO. They don’t have that flawless fit like LEGO. Some pieces were too difficult for my child to connect and did need my help. I like the price point and appreciate the smaller type for fun play. However design is not up to LEGO standard (yet anyway).

Fun Little Building Cars
Our five year old twins like these Hot Wheels building cars—they’re challenging without being frustrating. And the kids always have their eight year old brother as back-up help. Quality isn’t as good as Lego, but that doesn’t seem to make any difference to our kids. So far their collection consists of Twin Mill, Bone Shaker and GT Hunter. The cars are varied enough to keep their imaginations running wild. GT Hunter is a more futuristic looking car, and the kids like that the driver comes in a red, white and blue outfit with stars and stripes on him.

Great Mash up!
I love when two great brands combine to make a single great product. In this case, Hot Wheels has combined with Mega Construx which is the perfect toy for my growing toddler who has been into Hot Wheels cars for years and is now starting to love building block sets. There aren't a ton of pieces to put together but the vehicle ends up looking awesome. The pieces go together easily and stay together. The vehicle is detailed and rolls pretty well. I like the characters in the Mega Construx sets better than other name brand sets simply because they end up being more detailed.

Fun activity, nice reward for a four year old
Had fun putting this together with my son. Directions were good, he is four so I needed to help as there were many small pieces. This brand is not as easy to put the pieces together as Others but still good. It was just sometimes the pieces required a little more push. My son enjoys playing with the car and rider and it does not break apart.
