Solid and inexpensive

My son needed to turn a new halter into a breakaway one. We got these and they were easy to use and have been staying together well. We were happy to find this inexpensive option that meets our needs.

It should work...

I am not 100% on the as they do seem flimsier than what I previously had on my halter, they screw doesn't seem like it will hold long and it just doesn't seem as durable. BUT I will not write it off yet. Time will tell and I will update later....

Good quality leather

I bought these to turn a nylon halter into a breakaway halter. I also had a breakaway halter that I purchased. I found the quality of the leather in this set much nicer and replaced the leather in the breakaway with this leather for a much better feel.

Nice way to add extra safety

Very easy way to add safety to a nylon halter. Easy to cut through the stitching (not the webbing), to add these. Would like to see easier way to tighten, though.

Perfect to convert a regular nylon halter to a breakaway halter.

Used it to convert a regular nylon halter to a breakaway halter for use with a Tough1 easy breath grazing muzzle. The assembled length was the perfect match to replace the short section with the buckle in it.

Works on other brands too!

I used this a a replacement breakaway fuse on my Lami-Cell halters and it worked just as well as the original fuses which had dry rotted from age. The leather is supple and easy to bend into the proper shape. They come with the necessary chicago screws to fasten them onto the halter, which are also have a nice decorative flower embossed into the metal, which was an unexpected nice touch. You can hand tighten the chicago screws, but to be sure they are nice and tight, you will need a flat-head screwdriver to finish the job. I will happily order these again when I need new ones!

repair your breakaway halters...

These straps are meant for the types of breakaway halters that have a small leather connector on one side of the halter-- not the kind where the entire headstall top strap is leather. They work well and include the needed chicago screws. The leather is thin-- but it needs to be in order to fold for the attachments and to ensure it breaks if something terrible should happen and your pastured horse gets hung up on something.

Works like a charm

Very easy to assemble, nicely tanned leather, high quality Chicago screws. These tabs can turn just about any halter into a breakaway halter. Get a box cutter to remove the halter piece between the buckle and the ring, then substitute one of these. It's more unobtrusive than the crown piece breakaways and works just as well. I bought this replacement package after my mare caught her halter on a stall fitting while she was playing with it right after I brought her in from the pasture. The previous breakaway piece, also a Weaver, snapped as she tossed her head, just as it should. Safe horse, no vet bills, a couple of dollars for a quick replacement. These fuses allow me to buy any especially pretty or padded fleece comfort halter I want, then convert it. I'll never put an unconverted halter on my horse. One sharp twist of the neck can end their working days. Why risk it?

Vraiment facile à insta Ou changer sur un licol!

C’est tellement important que notre cheval puisse briser son licol s’il se prend quelque part! Ces lanières s’adaptent à presque tous les licols en nylon. Elles peuvent servir de remplacement à la lanière d’un licol Break away de Weaver ou être utilisé facilement sur un licol que vous avez déjà ( c’est ce que j’ai fait). Économique en plus!

Prefect fit and easy to install

My horse keeps breaking his break-away halters. It's costing me a fortune. These devices have saved me! I now put one on when he break the halter and it's like new. Anyone with a break away halter should have these on hand. They are super easy to put on and durable.

Very important to have on hand; great price!

Extremely handy to have these; great price as well. Comes with the Chicago screws too! You can adapt any regular nylon halter into a breakaway halter with these. I will never put a halter on my horse that isn't safe so these are invaluable to have in your tack box.
