Good belt
I’ve bought several of these belts over the last few years. I wear this belt everyday. I can usually get about 12-18 months out of the belt before the outer “skin” of the belt starts to tear away. It’s pretty stiff when new and arrives tightly rolled so the end tip want to protrude outward from the belt. When I first get it, I unroll it and put the end tip under a stack of books overnight and that usually takes most of the curl out of it. I like this belt due to its width and I have to buy a size 56”, so due to my size I’m limited in my options unless I want to spend a ton of money for a solid leather belt. I’m pleased with this belt, even with the durability issue.

At last, a decent belt at a fair price!
At last, a decent belt at a fair price! Admittedly, I've only had this for a couple of weeks, but the substantial weight and feel of this belt makes me hopeful that this is one that will last. I've been disappointed by other belts that are available for those of us, how shall I say it, in the "big boy" sizing category. Incidentally, the black is, indeed black. The brown is a very, very dark brown; almost black. I ordered both at the same time. But the sizing was perfect. (I'm a 44, but realize that as a belt size that would buy me a 44 length belt. I chose the 48, which works well. I suspect that the 46 would have worked as well.) Now, on to my New Year's resolution to lose 40 lbs, which, if successful, will happily force me to order the downsized version. But based on my experience with diets, I probably need two sets of belts: one for 38" and another for 44", with an expectatiion to keep both handy as my weight fluctuates.

Looks nice but not long lasting
I would assume that most big guys put a certain amount of stress on a belt, I know I do. The belt looks good when you buy it and lasts me maybe 6 months of daily use. When you buy it remember that many pants have a stretch factor so they may say 50 but your waist could be actually 52 or 54. Buy the belt for your true size not the number on your pants.

Nothing like a good Cognac
I needed a pair of brown shoes, and having purchased Florsheim before, I selected a pair in Cognac. I wasn't quite sure about the color choice, but I really love it. The only problem was that I didn't have a belt to match, and Cognac isn't exactly a common selection. I was able to find a belt in that color from Florsheim. I'm sure whoever is in charge of the marketing department knew that anyone who purchased the shoes would need a belt to match. Now I just need to find a product in Cognac to keep them looking good.

A nice belt, but the length is of...
I was wondering what length of belt to get, so I did a quick measurement of my waistline and added a bit to be sure. Amazon even provides a hand-dandy length guide which I followed to the letter. (Click the 'details' link). But the belt that arrived was by itself about two inches longer then as described, and the buckled adds another two inches to that. So, buyer beware...the length may be an issue. Other then that, the belt itself is beautiful and obviously well made. The buckle is solid and opens and closes easily. Recommended as long as you can get the length correct.
