Fits right under the fairlead... and helps attach a license plate... but I wish the little tabs were more robust. they make me feel that if you bump them on a rock one time, they will bend or break off. they work fine for street use.

Nice bracket but doesn’t fit all Fairleads.
Update 7/21/21 I am able to return this item without paying return shipping. I want to stress that, if this bracket fits with your fairlead, this bracket is a great solution to mount our front license plate. It is well made and heavy duty. The good: This bracket is heavy duty and well made. Looking at some of the reviews I hat the impression it might be a little flimsy. I would think that even if you ran into something directly on the license plate the the license plate would break off long before the bracket would. The bad: It will not work with all Hawse style Fairleads. The first winch I purchased was defective and I returned it and purchased a much more expensive winch. This bracket fit perfect on the Fairlead that came with the first winch but it does not fit with the Fairlead the came with the second winch. The rub is that I already paid shipping of almost $8.00 the get it and now it doesn’t fit and they want to charge me sipping to return an item that can’t be used. So my 2 stars is for the company not the product.

So far no problems, holds the plate nice and straight.
I added some rubber washers to aid in any rattling that might occur, but so far its holding tight.

Does NOT fit all fairleads or winch mounting plates!
I really like the simplicity of this license plate relocation bracket, and I really wanted this item to work for me, but I'm disappointed with my experience with the seller (which is why I only gave 3 stars). The item description was too vague to determine whether it would work for my setup. When I tried to install it on my Grimm Offroad winch mounting plate, I discovered that this bracket does not fit (the holes do not align) with the mounting plate. It also does not fit with the Factor 55 fairlead or the stock Warn winch fairlead. Now, I'm stuck with the hassle of returning it and Rough Country charges you shipping to return the item.

Little working room.
Once you finally get the license plate mounted it works good. It’s hard to get the provided bolt and nut lined up with little room to work behind the bumper. I recommend attaching your license plate first then attaching the mounting plate with the fairlead to the bumper.
