(CEC). Elegant faucet for any kitchen! A real beast to install though!
If you have kids, put them outside when you are installing this as the salty language will fly. I have a deep basin and narrow clearances between the basin and the back wall under the sink and this was a pain to install. The crescent-shaped lock washer only allows for the hoses to be in one position (towards the wall) in order for everything above to line up straight. The hoses then get in the way of getting a wrench around the nut to achieve a tight fit to the countertop. It took me about twenty minutes, but I was finally able to barely get a wrench on the nut to tighten. It also helps to have a second pair of hands to hold the faucet in place during installation as the unit is a little top-heavy. I really like the function of this faucet. The handle’s paddle design makes turning on and off, as well as, adjusting the flow very simple and easy. I was a little skeptical about the temperature control on the unit with the quarter turn (to the left) having a limited range, but after getting used to it for a day I grew to like the limited motion of it and it still allows for a wide range of temperature adjustment. The spray head is where this unit really sets itself apart. It has three different spray settings. The first setting I would characterize as normal, no biggie there. The second is a lighter, wider pattern that works well for rinsing fruit and veggies. The third is a directed, higher pressure pattern great for power-washing gunk off of dishes. All three settings can be adjusted from the control button on the spray head. With the right adjustment of the hose weight, the spray head effortless snaps back into place after pulling it out. The spray hose weight clamps around the hose allowing you to put it an optimal position for balanced return every time without slippage or readjustment. Clearances: Distance from stem to spray head = Approx. 9.5” Distance from countertop to spray head = Approx. 9” Assuming you have a standard basin both distances give you plenty of room to fill a large stockpot while still being able to tend to other things. The sleek lines and minimalist control arm limit the places for gunk to build up and allow for an easy wipe down of the unit. The narrow base and elevated controls also allow for easy cleaning of the countertop and backsplash around the unit. Once installed and tightened down, the unit feels sturdy with no wobble or movement. The spray head and controls all feel sturdy with no extra play in them. Initially this appears to be a well-built unit. However, time is the only true test for durability. Will revisit if anything changes. This unit is at the higher end of pulldown faucets, but for the price you get the superior quality and design of a Pfister You also get Pfisters “Homeowner Pforever Warranty” which covers finish and function for as long as you own your home.

How it's built is what matters.
So, there are myriad reviews on the general features and installation. We don't need any more of that, I think. What I'm going to try and hit upon here is the stuff ENGINEERS look at, as well as including some photos of parts of this faucet you can't see anywhere else. First, build quality and materials. You've seen cheaper faucets. They go from "molded plastic" to "pot metal". Well, none of that HERE. Every silver part that looks like metal IS metal. I checked every part with a neodymium magnet. From the base to the spray head, it is all ferrous stainless steel. No plated plastics. And looking at the base, the thickness of said steel is IMPRESSIVE. I'd frankly love to see these bases made. I don't know if they're hydroformed, drawn, welded, and ground/polished, or what. But the trigonometric functions that sculpted this steel is impressive. Then you work the ceramic valve. It's instantly apparent this isn't plastic and o-rings. Smooth as silk. VERY nice. Where am I NOT impressed with the quality? Well, there IS a bit of plastic in the head, and how long the nylon webbing around the hose will actually last is anyone's guess. If you have this faucet 20 years, here's where your problems are likely to manifest. Probably small issues, but time, once again, will tell. I guess the question is, at what price point do you NOT get any plastic? The MAJORITY of the build quality is FANTASTIC. Which begs the question, why not a stainless steel braid on the hose? Or at least, why is the spray head not made of cast Aluminum? I know head weight is an issue for a pull-down faucet, but we're above the $200 range here, so... So, the big Q. Is it worth the price they're asking? I'm going to say, "It depends!" On what? Well, if the nylon hose cover frays in 10 years, and Pfister says "No problem, we'll replace it!", then we're good. But I've read some indications online about Pfister's leaking hoses and hints at poor service. So as part of this review, if I encounter any issues in the next few years, I'll make them known. As it stands, out of the box I'd give it a 4.5. Amazon won't let me, so 4 it is. Understand, it's REALLY CLOSE to a 5. Those few minor plastic pieces give me pause in an otherwise beautiful faucet at this price range, however. The following is an after-installation amendment to my original review. The original review remains unchanged, but I would like to take a moment to discuss the hose weight that is included. I have an engineering background. I'm going to make a claim, and I'm going to invite Pfister's R&D department to reply to this review to debate (or confirm, if they wish) that which I'm going to claim. I weighed the included hose weight on my digital scale to find it tipped the scale at an astounding 1 lb 1.1 oz. So a 1 lb steel weight and 1.1 oz of plastic, basically. It is my honest opinion that this weight is TOO HEAVY. I have read some complaints from Pfister faucet owners online which allude to repeatedly leaking faucets with pull-down hoses. I feel the weight the Pfister engineers have resorted to is, without knowing every particular detail of every case, too much to suspend on a hose that has a plastic-bodied connector. Movement and use only amplifies the weight's effect. Before anyone says, "Well, how do you know better than Pfister's engineers?", perhaps I should point to exploding Pintos and collapsed bridges to illustrate the fact sometimes engineers get it WRONG. Pfister's engineers got it wrong here. With all-metal construction, maybe. Not with something passing hot and cold repeatedly, being pulled on, put back, ect. My SOLUTION, is I'm going to order a weight around HALF what's included, somewhere in the 8 oz range. Honestly, I don't have the weight on the hose now at ALL, and I could live with it being completely WITHOUT. But I like the feel of a little weight on the hose. So I'm going to order one from right here at good ol' Amazon. If you purchase a Pfister faucet and it has a 1+ lb weight, I do NOT recommend using it. I recommend finding something in the 8-12 oz range (NO heavier). More than that is too much to suspend on a piece of plastic that people tug on.
