Works great, lasted a long time, only one minor flaw
I’ve had two of these installed on posts in my yard for a year now and they’re working great. Nothing is rusting or falling apart and the wheel spins well. The rotating pin seems stuck on ours, so if that’s important to you, it may not be the best design. The only issue that kept this being 5 stars for us was needing to go buy a small, cheap hose to connect to it, because the hose connection on the wheel is far too close to the inner cylinder, meaning any hoses with stress relief or larger nuts will not be able to connect to it. That made it a bit of a pain to install. Providing a mounting set of lag bolts and washers would have been appreciated, too - nothing was included in our kit to actually attach it to the wall, meaning we ended up with several trips to the big box store to get this up. That said, installation woes aside, it works well and seems high quality.

When installed, it didn't leak
It should be a given that a product like this shouldn't leak, but I've installed a few of these over the years, and most of them required some fiddling to get to work without leaking. The product has not had a lot of use yet, and it may leak in the future, but for right now, no leaks. One of the things we like is that the swivel can be locked into place. This is handy when one wants to put the swivel in set direction, and have it stay there. The product didn't come with any mounting screws, or anchors, so we used screws from the hose hanger this product replaced. It would have been nice if there had been some screws, and anchors included, but it's not a deal breaker.

Almost perfect
Everything about this cart is sturdy and practical. I've had it for a year and it does everything it needs to do for me. The lead in hose is relatively worthless, as its too short, cheap, stiff and unruly. Threw mine away and installed a more flexible lead in hose. Perfect after this modification! I think it would be best to not include such a cheap, un-usable lead in hose. Just sell the cart without it and knock off $5?

I saw s reviewer claim you can’t fit ‘heavy duty’ hoses on the reel because the hose connector is too thick. This isn’t correct. Use the supplied short hose (or similar) to connect to the reel & then to your fancy hose. Fits just fine.

High Quality!
Worth, every penny! We attached it to a 6 x 6 holding up our four season/deck. It is rock-solid and very attractive! Functions great, love the way you can lock in whatever angle you wanna unreel it. Highly recommend this purchase!

This odd great! Easy to mount on a 4x4
This is a great product. It was easy to mount on a 4 x 4. It would also mount on a 6 x 6 or anything bigger than a 4 x 4.

Great hose reel
This is a great hose reel. It is heavy and sturdy. I ordered two and couldn’t lift the box because they were both in it. So husband brought them in. He was also very pleased. They are not cheap looking at all and look nice on the outside wall. Easy to reel in the hose.

So far, so good
This hose reel seems very sturdy. Nothing to mounting it and installing the reel. The middle lag bolt is a little tricky (not much clearance) but I got to use an infrequently used very short ratchet, so it kind of was a plus. Taking the advice of other reviewers, I applied a double coat of clear coat and letting it dry a day before attaching the hose. I am so looking forward to winding and unwinding the hose from the direction I am using it. Can’t wait. At this point with the reel mounted and clear coated I’m extremely pleased with the purchase.

Solid and versatile
Update: Apr 11/21 Had drained hose and removed hose reel (with hose) and placed in shed for the winter. Re-hung reel/hose today. Still looks new like day 1. Hint: Remember to lube the pin on the top knob (the spindle lock) which is subjected to the elements and may rust/become stuck if not maintained (lubricated). Instructions were clear and concise. Mounting and final assembly (handle and 2 mounting bolts) took minutes. Product appears well made. Will likely clear coat to mitigate any potential opportunity to rust due to elements and wear. Having the ability to swing the wheel to ‘direct’ the hose was particularly useful for me.

Disappointed
Disappointed. This is almost a great reel. Unfortunately there are a few issues. The first is the mount bracket. They are not fully welded and there is rust coming out of the location that was not welded. Right out of the box. The second thing was no installation hardware. It only needs 2 lag bolts, for the price paid they could include them... I have 100ft of hose on it and it just barely fits. No way you can get 125ft on this. Finally, there’s a bit more play in the system when winding then I would like. Makes it a bit difficult to wind and doesn’t feel sturdy. It is made all of steel so it shouldn’t be a problem. But I’m not feeling confident due to the other issues.

Love it but one small improvement could make it better
Love this product. I have had a few people comment on well it is constructed and how nice it looks. Construction appear really well. No flimsy parts at all. The item is very functional and I’m very please with it. One star off : The only small point is the design on placing the bottom hole install hole. The one screw point made it difficult to install because the support angle arm was in the way. Even with and extender to drill it in it still was difficult and the screw is slightly on an angle. This design and install should be made so an average person with basic tools can install and no extender is needed. To avoid this there should be 2x screw hole point for the bottom hole, one on each side of the angle bracket tube. This would eliminate the angle support angle from being in the way when trying to install it. Last small point, and this is a little bit of a wish, it would be nice if this came in black. Overall, great product.

It will rust and is not a sturdy wheel
After a single day of being installed on the exterior side wall of my house, all the welded edges have already began to rust. And despite placing the flat screws to keep the wheel from swinging, it does not allow for a solid flow to wind in the hose. I do not recommend, especially at this price.

Solid metal hose reel
Best hose reel I have ever bought. Solid, all metal. No cheap plastic. Loads and unloads very easily. I have a 100 ft hose on it. No leaks so far (have been using it for a month now). I highly recommend it. Mounted mine to a solid pole. The reel with the hose, easily can be removed for winter storage.
