Upgrade from the Original
I've been in and out of Toms, since they first hit the scene. These by far are the best take on the original "slip-on." The leather inner footbed has been swapped out with breathable material, and the sole has been upgraded to rubber. The heelcap has also been modified with rubber or leather/faux to increase durability if you prefer to just slide into them.

Black canvas is men’s shoe!!!
I have two other pairs of Avalon sneakers and love them. I wanted to get a new pair and bought the ‘black canvas’ option listed under women’s Avalons. When I received them they were men’s shoes, and some of the screens showed them as men’s while other screens showed them as women’s. I contacted customer service but they said they couldn’t do anything about the listing being incorrect, just give me a refund. So buyer beware, the black canvas option is a men’s shoe!
