A Great Learning Toy! A Must Have!
Magformers are like Legos - toys every kid should have. They are wonderful toys for learning through play and kids of all ages love them. My kid loves to build garages for his Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars with these super/jumbo squares. These pieces get a lot of play and are a must have add-on, like the wheels. The magnets are strong enough to make towers and are much more stable than the single unit squares. These are the same size as 2x2 or 4 of the standard squares put together, and have clear rims with magnets. They better than the original jumbo and super squares because the perpendicular crossbars support square units in the middle, unlike the diagonal crossbars. The crossbars do not have magnets and each quarter is open, but they do support smaller squares quite well. You can build dollhouses too, but they need a cardstock floor or be double stacked with single window squares to keep small items from falling through. The magnets are sealed in for safety and they are fairly robust. I've never had any break in the 6 years we've had them. We (kids and adults) have stepped on them accidentally but haven't purposefully jumped on them. This set has 12 clear super squares which connect better than the "Amazon exclusive" solid color plastic ones. Mixed sets only have a few at most. At $40 retail, these are about $3.50 a piece. The set includes: 3 clear red 2x2 super (jumbo) squares 3 clear yellow 2x2 super (jumbo) squares 3 clear green 2x2 super (jumbo) squares 3 clear blue 2x2 super (jumbo) squares Educational Play: Thease are great STEAM toys (STEM plus Art.) Kids learn about about 2D and 3D shapes and geometry naturally during creative play. While experimenting with how the shapes connect, they develop visualization skills and spatial awareness. This set can also be used to teach beginning multiplication in 2D and 3D. My kid even uses them to make music - they sound a bit like small tambourines. Magformers: if you are looking for feedback, I suggest putting in a bonus square, so you can make three blocks with an open side or four blocks with no roof and an open side. ::jk (rob's spouse)

High Quality Toy that Encourages Creativity
For the record: each square is approximately 6 x 6 inches - or just a little larger than 4 regular sized Magformer squares put together. I'm not sure why this basic information is not included with the general description. When I was considering this for purchase, there was no accurate size information posted on the product page, so I had to guess at the size based on photos. (Never a very reliable method!) The product dimension was listed as "12 x 12 x 12 inches," which did not seem right. (In fact, the box it was shipped in was not that large!) I have been very impressed with the high quality of the Magformers and the grandkids have had lots of fun playing with them. I have noticed a lot of comments on how expensive Magformers are. They are rather expensive, but if you are not in a great hurry, there are some good sales every now and then. When I purchased these, they were on sale at about 60% off the usual price. I purchased it for grandchildren who really enjoy playing with their other, smaller Magformers sets. And yes, even though the super squares are much larger than the original shapes, the grandkids and their father have been successfully combining them with the smaller shapes for their building projects.

This is the Very Best!!!!
I am a Nursery School teacher and have a lot of experience with toys for children. I tried several different, cheaper brands of magnetic toys, and always ended up returning them. When I received the Magformers, I thought, "Yes! This is it!" They are cute as can be, extremely strong, and are always in use at my Nursery School!

Absolutely love these squares!
These are a favorite for my autistic grandson. He carries them everywhere. I tried to order more but cannot find them anywhere. I would love to have more.

No Magnets in the middle section! why?
No Magnets in the middle section! this made it less usable and harder to build off of. this made it about useless according to my two kids that are avid fans of this otherwise great toy, UN-fun enough that they actually asked to return a Christmas toy! wow i thought.

A 4-year-old's dream come true
What fun to give this to our grandson! He knew what they were right away and immediately set about building a tower with the box of magformers and the old ones he already had! He loves them!

So a great way to start our Magformers collection
I got 2 sets with 54% off Boxing Day deal. It is much cheaper than any set. So a great way to start our Magformers collection. My 2 yr old loves to make garage with these big squares. The building structures are very stable. Magformers official website provide PDF download of instruction manual for all the sets. So we can buy pieces/sets on discount, then build the sets we don’t own as long as we have the same shape pieces.
