Radon removal/prevention that works
Very impressed with this little product. I had a terrible radon problem in my basement. In one closed off area the radon would build to 40+ pico curries per liter (pcl) in a matter of days. That’s right: 40. I installed a blower in and a blower out in every sector of my 2500 SF basement with 10’ ceilings (8 blowers in all) and the radon levels went from 40 pcl to 2! Not a typo: 2 and within 24 hours. 4 pcl is what is considered allowable/livable full-time. I did this myself with these blowers and 4 pvc pipes running outside the house. It’s actually a very professional looking and quiet (!) installation. And this was after I paid a professional company to come in and install blowers and pvc pipes to draw radon gas from under my basement slab. Their system did not work. Did not work at all. Radon stayed at steady 40 pcl in the worst area. I ripped all of that noisy and ugly mess out after installing my own air exchange system using these blowers. I also have ceiling fans in the basement to keep the air stirred up. I have no restrictions on the air inlets blowing into the basement and then the air blowing out has to overcome the friction/drag of the pvc venting out of the basement. This creates a slight over pressure condition, which, when combined with the ceiling fans, prevents/restricts radon from coming through the concrete floor/walls. The slight over pressure and air exchange system is a simple and elegant solution to a very ugly problem that kept me out of my basement for years. The home-developed system is working much better than I expected. If your conventional radon eradication system is not working or if you haven’t installed one yet, you may want to give this a try. In my case, I had nothing to lose. In the process I regained the use of my basement for a fraction of what the conventional radon installation cost the first time around. I will run these fans full-time to manage and keep the problem under control. It’s been a couple of months now and the reading are consistently right around 2 pcl. This system and these little blowers work.

5.8pCI/L to 0.6PCi/l in less than 48 hours.
We had our house tested a few years ago and readings came back below required levels. I had a neighbor who had a mitigation system installed for $2500 so I bought a radon monitor and my levels bounced from 5-8pCi/L. On Wednesday they were at 5.8 so I installed this fan in my sump. My sump never had water so I got a little lucky that I was able to buy the radon sump cover and hook this fan up using my sump hole. Friday morning my readings were down to 0.6pCi/L very impressed. I had a radon guy scheduled for a quote figured I would keep it just in case this didn't work. He was very impressed with this setup. I would recommend this fan.

Not recommending for a long vertical run.
The fan is quiet and easy to install. However for my situation it did not lower the radon level at all. I have a vertical passive radon pipe preinstalled in a new home that that runs vertically approximately just under 30 feet out out through the roof with a few elbows along the way. I installed the fan in the basement level in a wall cavity, near the lowest point in the home near the basement slab. I noticed quite a bit of condensation running down the pipe from the onset ( I live in Canada near the US border) due to cold air from the outside. I decided still to give it a try and see if I could lower the radon level. I ran the fan for 2 days without any effect on the radon level. I don't recommend this fan for a long vertical run given my experience. It may work for a short horizontal installation but I can't confirm that.

Good for what is designed for, but not well sealed
One of the few options when only a little extra draw.is required. It isn't silent, but it is quiet enough to be under our bedroom in the crawl space and not disturb. One frustrating thing I found was that the coupling job on the fan was inadequate. After install I could physically feel air escaping around the fan body where gaps in the caulk were visible.

Works Enough To Drop My Radon
Works Enough To Drop My Radon- I've tested my house a couple years ago. Lab came back at 6.8. Threshold to do something is at 4. I bought a digital meter and I kept it in my living space and per that meter my readings were good. So I thought. Sensor went bad and bought a much better one and readings were 4.5+. The house has a passive system installed since the house was built. Being in the heating and air conditioning trade. I was looking for a fan that would draw enough from the crawl space and the sump pit. I installed this fan before the riser going up to the roof. Then I installed a magnehelic gauge above the sump pit. My reading is at the furthest point from the fan. I have a slight negative pressure. -.05", Which I consider good. It's been a week since I've installed it. My radon has dropped below 1. Depending on your piping configuration, this fan may not be enough for you.

DOES WHAT IT SAYS FOR NOW!
Just purchased it a few days ago & it has immediately brought my radon levels down to acceptable levels! Just a quick background, renting a 1940's home in RI that has a full basement roughly 30'x25'. It has been recently converted from oil to an on demand gas unit for heat & hw that gets exhausted out the side of house, allowing me to use the chimney for venting. I can't comment on how long it will last because I have not had it long enough but it seems to be of a quality build. I have the Ecocube(which I also recommend) setup in the middle of the house on the first floor for the readings. All in all, it's comforting to know you & your love one's aren't breathing in a bunch of cancer causing radon gas!

Product matched description and fit 4" pipe.
Won't be easy to fix when the fan wears out as glued in to ensure good pull for very low-rated CFM.
