does not work

I've tried two of these, none work! they are not made correctly, if you install it as per instructions nothing comes out the sprayer hose, the brass plunger is bound up inside. a workaround had to be made by screwing it in setting the bottom washer, then back it out a few turns so the water bypasses the lower washer. this gats a fairly decent spray but water still comes out the faucet and sprayer.

The old diverter was difficult to remove. There is a hex bolt provided with the new diverter to be used as the removal tool of the old diverter. You need to use the hex part of the bolt as kind of a large Allen wrench. I couldn't get enough leverage only using pliers, so I just put the hex bolt directly in my cordless drill and unscrewed the old diverter that way. After the old diverter was removed, installation was easy and my side sprayer now works again!

Doesn’t divert the water to only come out the sprayer

This is the third diverter I have purchased. And none of them fixed the issue. The faucet and sprayer have water coming out of them when I use the sprayer.

OEM Diverter for a Sprayer Fix

I was in need of a diverted on my Moen Faucet, as I had some thumping, leaking and squealing coming from my faucet. It turned out to be mainly a sprayer head issue, but replacing the diverter also helped, as I checked the repair in stages. This was a direct Moen part and fit without issue. I don't like their design where you have to insert a bolt head into the diverter to replace and insert it, but that's something I can't control. Just be wary of how the head is inserted and that it's not tilted to one side. You can easily strip the hex shape if you're not careful. A bit of a tip is to find 2 nuts that fit the threads. I think they were 3/8" X 16. Instead of using pliers to grab the bolt shift, jam the 2 nuts together on the threaded end. By doing this, the nuts and bolt are can be turned as a single unit. I used a box end wrench to get enough force parallel to the countertop and on the bolt in an even, controlled manner. You can use an open end or combination wrench, too. A socket will only work if the faces of the 2 nuts line up just right when they're jammed together.
