Run Large. The L size waist measures 40 inches laying flat without stretching.

A Bit Larger than Expected

Very well made. However, the shorts ran much larger than the size indicated. Otherwise a good buy.

Great for hiking!

Bought these for hiking, they are great shorts, very airy and lightweight, plenty of room in the pockets. They do run a bit big, I could have easily gotten the next size down but decided to keep the ones I bought simply because the extra room made it easier to move around in and a little extra airflow in the legs is nice on hot days.

The material is soft

My husband liked the length, and the color - black goes with everything. The pants have lots of pockets with closures, so you don't have to worry about losing your wallet for phone.

Be aware these are nylon

I received these shorts for my review. I didn't consult the sizing chart but I have a 34" waist and the mediums fit but they are a little snug. I could have sized up easily - they do have a strech band in back so they'd easily fit someone with a 32" waist too - maybe even a 30. The shorts look exactly as in the images but I don't guess I own any nylon clothes. These sort of feel like tent material or something - but the material does stretch a little. They aren't uncomfortable, but to the touch they feel odd to me. Maybe like jogging suits from the 80's. They have a snap button which I haven't seen on any clothing for many years. I tend to prefer the button up ones - I just feel like there is less chance of them coming undone with buttons, but so far the snap holds well. The side pockets are all velcro except for 1 zipper on the side. All the pockets have plenty of depth to them - even the zipper one. The finish seems to be really well done. There are no loose threads or messed up stitching. The branding is a simple ARCTIX across the cargo pocket. Overall, a nice pair of shorts.

Really excellent much like Columbia, wearing over a year now, these wear like iron!

Update: I’ve been wearing these to work every day for over a year now and they still look like new! I am a mechanic, I’m very hard on my clothes but these are so durable, they wear like iron. They’ve been washed a million times and they still look great, the black doesn’t show any grease stains at all. I have purchased a couple dozen for work. They are true to size and comfortable, they dry very quickly. Can’t recommend these enough, great work shorts! These are so much like my Columbia shorts. The fit is true and they fit amazing and very cool and comfortable. I am a marine mechanic, I use these for work, I’ve worn shorts similar to this for 40 years. These are some of the nicest fitting and well made shorts I’ve come across. I love all the cavernous pockets. There are deep slit pockets at the sides and two large Velcro (really good Velcro) pockets on the back, a large deep gusseted Velcro pocket on the lower right and even a zipper pocket on the lower left! These have a snap closure and the waistband has some elastic on either side for extra movement. These are awesome work shorts, the black is very dark jet black (my pictures are lighter to show details) and won’t show grease. I’ve already worn and washed them several times, no special care, I wash in warm and they came out great, low tumble dry. These look really sharp, love the fit, love all the storage. I will definitely buy more. These fit true to size, I’m a 32 and medium fit perfectly. The quality is excellent. Highly recommend these

Very comfortable and good fit

Very light weight and comfortable. I usually use 32 waist pants and this Medium size fit very perfect. It has 6 pockets - 2 open, 3 velcro flaps and 1 zipper. The material (Nylon) feels light weight and feels like activewear. My only concern is about the inner material of the open pockets that seem like soft mesh material and not sure the durability of these pocket material. Apart from that I am very satisfied with the overall product.

Sized correctly, comfortable, well made

These are sized correctly . . . my husband wears a size 32 and that is what these (in size Medium) should be. The fabric is lightweight and breathable so nice for hiking and hot uses. The fabric is a little noisy like a windbreaker but it doesn't bother us when outdoors. They hit above the knee and have nice expandable side pocket on the right and a zipped internal pocket on the left, as well as the normal pants pockets. The back pockets have velcro to keep them closed. There are belt loops so if the sizing is off a little you can make up for it with a belt. We were unable to find any manufacturing or other flaws. Great quality, comfortable and affordable. Hard to go wrong.
