I didn't have these long but they worked as promised.
I bought this to revitalize an old discarded trap I found in the swamp. Worked like a charm but then I lost the accursed trap so IDK how long they would have worked but I saw no reason to suspect they were going to give out on a light collapsible blue crabber.

Great for crab traps
I started crabbing in Florida a few months ago and I bought these harnesses for my Blue Crab traps. I didn't want to spend too much as I'm new to the sport and I want to get a good introductory product. I have been very happy with the harnesses so far. They have held up really well so far after months of use with no breaks in the rope or clips. They attach very tightly to the and I don't feel like they're gonna fall off when I set my traps. I highly recommend these harnesses.

Mostly Rustproof
I have to replace my crab harnesses every two years because of rust in metal carabiners. I am stoked that this harness uses extremely durable nylon clasps... the central ring is made of steel but should not rust as much as previous harnesses. The harnesses performs well in Pacific with ~50 pounds of weight per pull.

bought these as replacements the plastic hooks do not last long
I bought these as replacements, the plastic hooks are not long lasting, two or three months in the saltwater getting serviced every couple days and they do break, I have not lost a trap yet but was down to 1 hook on one of the traps and got lucky i guess! I put a nylon tie strap on each hook to make them last the longest but it is just a poor design. my search for good bit of crab trapping kit that last goes on!

Fell apart after less than 4 weeks in the water
The clips on these harnesses literally fell apart after less than 4 weeks in the water. I'm a recreational crabber in southern British Columbia fishing for Dungeness. I have two x 36" commercial style traps. I found the cheaper plastic harnesses just don't hold up with that weight. Not wanting to risk losing my traps, I ponied up for the heavy duty harnesses with the metal clips. I bought two of them. First impression was positive. Taking them out of the packaging they felt quite substantial. I was impressed. I replaced the cheap plastic harnesses on my traps and dropped them again. First time I pulled up the traps the clips were already starting to rust. I kept using them though. Within 4 weeks every one of the 8 clips (2 sets x 4 clips) had deteriorated such that the spring clip just fell off. And it wasn't from overuse. When I pull my traps I only ever release the clip that is holding the lid closed. So most of those clips had never been engaged except for the first time I put them on the traps. Full disclosure: I knew these clips were not stainless steel when I bought them. I knew that over time steel in salt water will eventually end up in the trash. But I expected far longer than 4 weeks. I will be replacing these with something else. I might need to splurge for stainless this time.

The 4 attachment clips can get undone
I used this to attach a new 24" crab pot to a 100' line. I was a bit alarmed at first that the top ring seemed to be made of plastic, but apparently in the specs it's plastic-covered metal. The 4 attachment clips for each corner of your cage are plastic however. They function like carabiners, with a rigid plastic tab that bends open enough to accept the trap's frame. The tab isn't spring loaded, so they always seem to rest slightly open, although i haven't experienced clips getting unclipped on their own. The orange rope connecting the black pieces is coarsely-braided nylon/polyester and is eye-spliced around each clip. On a couple occasions, these eye splices have gotten undone by repeated tugging (luckily never the 4 clips at once). The eyelet splice should be overlapped more. I would recommend strengthening those 4 splices with an extra knot on the bitter end, fusing the splice by melting, or wrapping some twine/tape around them. Then they're good to go.
