Unique in more ways than one

The pro: the pieces are unique. The con: the pieces are unique. I included pictures of the back so you can more easily see what I'm describing. Because the pieces are unique, it's not possible to put something in the wrong place. That's a plus. However, the flip side is: (1) not all pieces are fully interlocking, and (2) not all spaces take pieces as expected. For example, imagine you are holding a piece with an external/outside piece expecting it to go into another piece with a hole (inner). Forget it. Just as many pieces require 2, yes TWO, pieces to get around that outer piece. It makes it very hard to find the correct pieces. Since my eye sight isn't as good as it once was, and the high gloss causes a great deal of glare, I often find I have to resort to finding a particular shape in order to assemble the puzzle. Typically, my granddaughter and I finish a 1000 piece puzzle in a day or two. This one took us almost a week. On the one hand it's nice that we had more time. On the other, we both grew quite a bit frustrated with the pieces. The pieces range in size with many of them being quite small/narrow or large. Personally, we liked the larger sizes (overall). They are easier to handle with my arthritic hands and my granddaughter appreciated being able to more easily see what piece was and be able to identify it. One final plus: the pieces fit so well, when it was finished, that it was easy to flip and glue for hanging. It holds together rather well once complete assembled. Don't get me wrong, we still had to do sections, but it was quite manageable. One final con: there is no separate poster and this would be VERY helpful. At least for us. Stated finished dimensions : 24"x30". Actual dimensions: 24-1/4"x30-1/2". Only becomes an issue (for folks like us) who work our puzzles on foam core boards (24"x30") or similar.

Cake puzzle

Large, sturdy pieces with unusual shapes; beautiful image!

This is my first Spingbok puzzle, but it will not be my last! I really enjoyed this puzzle; the unusual shapes of the pieces were a welcome change of pace. The pieces interlock tightly. I was also very happy to see that the puzzle image was crisp and exactly like the box image. I really dislike it when a jigsaw puzzle picture ends up being blurry. This was absolutely not the case here. Fabulous puzzle! Will definitely keep and do it again. Plus, who doesn't like cake? LOL.

Yummy

I loved the colors of this yummy looking cake....You almost want to nibble the chocolate pieces a little!! The only disappointment was the cut of the pieces was somewhat ragged, making the fit a little difficult. Had to apply more pressure than usual... Did not have that satisfying "snap" that other puzzles do....But the final picture was gorgeous....Just have to adjust to the fit of the pieces

Relaxing puzzle but quality is subpar

As a true lover of springbok puzzles the quality of this puzzle is highly disappointing. I don’t know if they switch manufacturers due to high demand with Covid but this puzzle definitely wasn’t machined correctly. When I unboxed it at least 20% of the pieces were uncut and still stuck together which took 30 minutes to cut and rip apart. Secondly the puzzle fits together extremely tight. So tight that you can lift the entire puzzle up by one corner. Doing this puzzle feels wrong because it takes so much pressure and energy to push one piece into place. It almost feels like the piece doesn’t go there but after jamming it in there it finally fits. As someone who solves puzzles many times a week this is definitely a quality issue and makes for an unsatisfactory solve. On the plus side I do enjoy the image, it’s not to glossy and the puzzle makes for fast sorting. You can sort the puzzle in less than 10 minutes into blues, pinks, browns and whites. This would of been one of my favorite puzzles if it wasn’t for the MAJOR issues with quality. Total solve took less than 2 hours and this puzzle is easy enough for children 7 and up. Pieces aren’t to small and its an easy design.

Cute, but not cut through

I fell in love with this yummy picture. The name brand had been recommended to me, so I ordered. Upon opening box, many pieces remained connected. While sorting, I noticed that ALL the pieces had a bottom lip. They were cut smoothly through. This makes placing them together a chore as you have to wiggle and push them together, even when it is obvious they fit together. If they had been cut and had smooth sides, I would give this item a 5star review, but puzzles shouldn't be challenging to assemble, rather relaxing

Avoid

Arrived in squashed plain white box not Springbok box, jigsaw poor quality, can't possibly give it as Christmas present to somebody, appears to be cheap copy.

won't buy Springbok again

I loved the image so wanted to give Springbok another chance after my first Springbok puzzle was awful and disappointing.(coloured popcorn-technicolor treats). the pieces where shaggy on the bottom - not clean cut. a few had bended knobs. the pieces fit together tight, but almost too tight as you have to force them. the completed puzzle does not lie flat - it is wavy and lifting is areas. the bottom portion of the box is very flimsy and I taped the corners to hold where the glue was separating. I am new to puzzling, but already know that this brand is not one I will be collecting.

The worst puzzle ever.

I have bought this brand of puzzle before and was very happy with it. This one however was the worst puzzle that I have ever bought you had to press the pieces in so had it was like they did not fit. When I was done doing it I could pick it up in one hand and it would not fall apart.
