Good with a couple of cautions

Can’t yet comment on durability but the paddle looks good for it’s intended purpose — enabling kids to get paddling before they’re able to use an adult size. Its multiple pieces go together easily but… there are no directions. So look things over before you start. Make sure you notice the bump-like protrusions on the yellow center piece and how they should match up with the holes in the shaft halves, and need to stay seated as you tighten the collars that hold them in place. Also, and not surprisingly for this price, there is no adjustability to feather the blades. For a child, you likely don’t want them feathered anyway. However, when you screw the blades onto the shaft, you may or may not wind up with some arbitrary feathered position, as the machining on the plastic pieces is not super precise. As a workaround fix, try using some tape around the last threads to change the orientation one of the blades when it gets screwed in tightly. This seems to work. I don’t mean to scare off potential buyers with these cautions — I am satisfied with the product, as I couldn’t find a better choice.

Not 6 ft

This paddle will probably not last long, but it was inexpensive and will do the job intended. It is NOT 6 ft long. Only 5'.

Perfect for kayaking with little ones that want to help paddle.

Every time I take my 3-year-old grandaughter out on one of my kayaks she always wants to try and use my paddle. Of course, it's way too heavy and a struggle and not the fun she'd hoped. So I bought her this paddle and it's perfect for her to dip and pull in the water easily and she has fun knowing she's helping to move our kayak. I simply unscrew one of the blades for easy storage in our deck box.

Perfect for floating the river

We got these for floating the river in Boise Idaho. It's so nice to be able to steer your tube away from the scary spots. Kids size is perfect for tube baddling. Thx

My daughter likes it

We just started kayaking and wanted to get one for my daughter who is eight. What you may like 1. Very light and the perfect length for kids 2. Although plastic it seems sturdy enough 3. Comes apart to a much smaller package for easy portability 4. Works well for paddling for its size and price. What you may not like 1. The plastic threading is not great and there is a little bit of a struggle each time you put it together. It is annoying enough for me to take away a star.

Seems a bit flimsy

Overall a pretty good paddle for kids. Seems a little flimsy compared to other similar paddles we’ve had. I don’t like the screw together assembly vs other paddles that clip the two halves together.

Review kids paddle

Perfect for kids, not expensive I bought this small paddle for my daughter. She lost hers this summer during a trip on the lake. It was almost the same model that came with her kid kayak bought at Canadian Tire. Perfect size, just looking for something lightweight and small to replace the lost one. I totally recommend this paddle.
