It works
Just a single rubber band sandwiched in some plastic so longevity is questionable, but it’s low priced. Used for Gamble’s making the “Chicago” call. The call is definitely off in tone but I can get coveys to respond so it works.

you have to adjust the rubber band tightness to get it it to sound like a quail not a gazoo
Ready to use, you have to adjust the rubber band tightness to get it it to sound like a quail not a gazoo. Doesn't sound quite right but I may need to adjust the rubber band more but I don't want to go too tight or it might snap Update, once you get the thing adjusted right it will work. Quail do respond to this easy call. I was surprised, while calling with this thing after dog flushed up a covey and I missed them all, my dog got all tangled in the sage. In the 7 minutes it took to get her untangled when I went back to hunting 4 quail flushed up right where I just was ie they came to this call.

Great sound
Great sound, loud, just don’t bite down on the plastic or distorts the sound. A real good “bang” for your buck, works well for California quail. Quail respond quickly to this call. It has Held up for 2 seasons so far, and I expect to get many more out of it. Buying one for my dad for next season. Real gem. Wouldn’t go hunting without one.

Cheaply made, requires a lot of effort
To put it simply, this call was not well made, nor does it seem a lot of effort went into the design. First, the call is simply a rubber band stuck between to pieces of plastic. These probably cost Primos 50¢ each to make, so the price tag of $10 is ridiculous. The effort required to make an adequate quail call is ridiculous. I have to put so much pressure into blowing through this call that it's really not worth using. Secondly, in order to get an adequate call, you have to find the correct position to put it in your mouth, not like high-quality calls where you blow straight on. The instructions are not very helpful, and it takes some practice to get an adequate call. The tone of the call can be adjusted, but I do not feel, for the price, that you get an accurate enough replication of a true quail call to make it worth the effort or the money. I have used other quail calls made of better materials, better craftsmanship that offer much more accurate reproduction of the call with much less effort for about the same price. Save your cash. If you want an inexpensive call that does a decent job, check out the Flambeau Wood Quail Call Lure.

Primos Valley Quail Call
Good quail call. The end pieces can come off so you could adjust the tone. I wouldn't reccommend that as that the ends could become loose and start falling out when you don't want them too. Also, I could only get the right sound when place on a certain side in my mouth. Try turning the call different ways like left to right and upside down and back again to find the right sound.
