A godsend for fat baby feet!

My kids have obnoxiously wide feet. Like, my oldest spent his first 3 years living in crocs because nothing else fit his fat little hooves. My youngest has even wider feet - too wide for crocs! I have tried everything on him and these extra wide stride rites are the ONLY shoes that fit him. These are such a godsend. Before I found these, for a few months, I had to send him to daycare in SLIPPERS because nothing else fit. I am so grateful these exist. They seem comfortable on him, and every morning when it's time to go, he yells "shoe!" and chases down these stride rites, waiting eagerly for my to put them on. The velcro closure is awesome, too - lets the shoe fit his seemingly ever-growing little footsies. I exclusively buy these shoes for him!

Cute and comfy. The tongue does slide down just a bit.

These are just the cutest. I ordered them in size 8 for my two-year old. They slide on easily, similar to what I have come to expect from this brand and seem to be a very comfortable fit. Durability is very good, holding up well after lots of hours outdoors and at parks, etc. The front part of the shoe above the toe, which can be so susceptible to scuffing, is holding up impressively well and the contrast stitching is holding up well. The colors are true to the on line picture. I'm giving a one star seduction because the lounge does seem to slide down just slightly when on my son's foot. It doesn't seem to bother him, and it's barely noticeable from a 'looks' stand-point, except to me, picky ole mom. Overall a cute, comfy shoe and a great value at the sale price.

As Toddler Proof a sneaker as you will find

I can't say enough about these sneakers. I have a very active toddler who makes it his mission to destroy his clothes. Skinned knees, grass stains rips, tears... you name it, he has done it to new clothes within a day or two. Shoes have been no exception... we have stuck with Stride Rite because they have a reputation for higher quality but even with nicer Stride Rite shoes, my son found a way to poke his toes through the end of his last pair of shoes within a month and a half of buying them! These Prescott Sneakers though were the exception. These lasted my son 6 months! They are made out of a tougher leather which is both comfortable (I think - my son doesn't complain at least) and durable. I just bought my second pair of sneakers in a half size bigger and plan to stick with these as long as possible. Would definitely recommend! and he destroyed his previous pair of shoes

Velcro issues

The only reason I’m not 5-star rating these is b/c the way the Velcro fits, it doesn’t give much connection. So, the portion of the Velcro that’s left on the show is roughly 3/4”-1”, and because that’s the “rough” side of the Velcro, his shoes catch on everything. My sweaters, his blankets, stuffies, you name it. I just wish that part of the shoe was thought out differently. My son definitely does not have wide feet, if he did, these wouldn’t close at all.

They run a size small.

I bought these for my son after he started walking because I thought they would provide him with more stability as he improved. Overall they were a good buy and I am pleased that I bought them, however, they run a size small. I have had him in other size 5 shoes and I was disappointed to learn that these fit more like his size fours. However, with this knowledge I will continue to buy Stride Rite in a size larger because I really believe these are the best toddler shoes on the market. They are well worth the price, extremely well put together, and not cheap looking. I have found them to be durable and my son seems comfortable in them. I would recommend buying the wide size, especially if your toddler has chunky feet like mine does.

More stars needed!

I have the hardest time finding shoes for my son because he's got abnormally wide feet; To the point where we can go to multiple stores and try on every "wide" shoe in the store and cannot even find one that will go onto his foot easily and actually fasten on the top. I ordered these shoes on a whim and a prayer and they have been the most perfect shoes for him. They're not too stiff but not so thin or flexible that they wear easily, and they have lasted through his entire growth spirt without breaking it falling apart. They are beat up, but my son literally wears them every day and I bought them about a half-size too big initially so he's been wearing them for MONTHS! Definitely one of my greatest Amazon purchases and I'm debating whether or not to just buy the exact same pair in a bigger size!!

I love Stride Rite sneakers (especially the Kellen due to the ...

I love Stride Rite sneakers (especially the Kellen due to the rounded edges and flexibility, unfortunately they only go up to size 6). Weighing in on these Prescott sneakers for my 2 1/2 year old son (size 6.5). PROS: Sturdy Cushiony (Memory foam insole) CONS: Not as flexible (Which is a bit of a problem when my son is running..or trying too with these shoes.) The "tongue" is a bit hard (Although I'm sure it'll soften up after repeated use.) With that said, my son does not complain his feet hurt like he used too when he wore Nike's or Kobe's so I can't complain. I'm sure all the cons listed will go away after breaking them in for a while.

Great quality and comfort. Reasonably priced.

These are great shoes, just like any other StrideRite shoes we own. However, i had some sizing issues. I have used the printed chart to measure my son's foot, and according to the chart he is size 7w. In size 7 he has almost 1.5" of space in the front of the shoe and they just look huge. I ended up sending these ones back and ordering another pair in 6.5w which fit perfectly. Great quality overall - good materials and stitching. Will certainly keep buying StrideRite shoes for my little guy as they seem to be the most comfortable and reasonably priced among other quality shoes on the market.
