Some considerations

Installation was not bad, but I do not like how complicated it is to change the bulb. Came missing hardware that we had to source elsewhere. It’s sturdy steel and glass was not broken upon arrival. Very striking look whether you install it upwards or downwards. Just some real quality control issues with the hardware.

Good overall light

We placed this light fixture in one of our stairways and it matches our black metal railing. The only downside for internal use is that the top is screwed on, making bulb changes a tad more involved, and the light obviously doesn't shine above the solid top. That was known, however. Our particular unit was missing one of the black front screw caps, which was unfortunate (we checked thoroughly...it was nowhere in the package).

Well Made

Obviously the exterior of the building where I installed this light is a work in progress. Chalky pink = UGLY. This light is the first in a series of improvements (including paint and trim) and it is such an improvement over the sad fixture that was there. The part of this light that is not glass is powder coated metal of a reasonably heavy gauge. It will not bend easily, anyway. The install of this light was very easy. It has a bracket that attaches to the electrical box in the wall and then two acorn nuts which screw the fixture to the bracket. Be SURE that the two screws which these nuts attach to are level else your light will be crooked. The wiring was simple. The colors of the wire are as expected for the U.S. - black, white, and bare copper (ground, sometimes these are green). Notice I installed this upside down both because of where it is located and for access purposes. The way to change the bulb is, in this case, to unscrew the four screws on the bottom cover (top, if you install the other direction) and and remove the cover. Kind of a pain in the rear. HOWEVER, if you are installing the lamp in a high traffic area with a cool Edison bulb this feature prevents theft of the bulb (a HUGE problem with the last fixture) so to me this feature is a win. Yep, people will steal light bulbs. I don't anticipate anyone standing around to unscrew the bottom of this in order to steal the bulb.

Not practical

This outdoor lamp did not work out well for me. To change the bulb you have to access the lamp from the top and unscrew four tight screws which is not convenient. I also prefer a light that has a sensor on it so it turns off during the day and on at night for security when on vacation.

Versatile Outside Lighting with Contemporary Design

This light looks great on our new deck. I particularly like that it can be installed with the glass and light up or hanging down. We did have an electrician install it
