Stopped my fridge ice maker from making noise
I bought this to stop my fridge from making a loud sound whenever the ice maker filled up, and it did a good job of that. The fridge was already plumbed with 1/4" OD plastic tubing into a coupler to the plastic coupling that came out of the fridge, so this nicely replaced the coupler. This does not come with the metal insert you're supposed to use to connect a plastic tube to the brass compression fitting. So I needed to go to Home Depot and pick up a kit, as reusing the old fitting would leak.

Eliminated refrigerator waterline hammering
Great device that is difficult to find elsewhere. I had to modify the compression fitting to conform to the shutoff valve (inverted flare union and rubber rings successfully sealed the connections). I now hear no hammering when I shut of the water

Seems to work
This item was fairly easy to install. It replaced a compression coupler that connected the copper tubing to the plastic tubing. There is still a bit of water hammering between the refrigerator and the hammer arrestor on the plastic tubing, but the hammering doesn't hit the copper tubing anymore and there is no more rattle. Time will tell on the quality of the product.

In-line, not through-line
Since both ends have a compression seat and a compression nut, you can’t thread this in directly through-line. Using a small pipe cutter, I cut approximately 2” of the copper line feeding the humidifier, used that plus one ferrule and nut to make an adapter. Then used the second ferrule and nut included to reattach the 1/4” supply line.

Did not work on my refrigerator.
Did not work on my refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser. It actually made the issue worse by increasing the noise. I returned it. Note: this item may work for other refrigerators, it just didn’t work on mine.

No more noise!
I had 2 HVAC guys here and they couldn’t reduce the noise when my whole home humidifier tired on (a clunk heard through the whole house). This arrestor saved the day in the end.

Awesome Product!!!
Easy to install, low cost, top quality, and it works perfectly!!!! No more slamming noise when the AprilAire humidifier turns off and I mean none!! Should have installed this years ago and every humidifier installed should be sold/installed with one. I installed it 3” upstream from the solenoid valve!

No More Bang
My new steam humidifier would create a resonate thump whenever the internal water valve would shut off. The humidifier was supplied by a 1/4" copper line. This unit was easy to install and stopped the "thump" (water hammering) immediately.
