Fits my Whynter ARC-14S, well ok, a bit small....
The original filter finally tore apart and this one replaced it. I tried using others but they were either too thick or restricted the airflow. Whynter is rather proud of these filters as you get 1 (one) filter for $24.99. Considering they last about 2 years it's not that expensive but still, $24.99 for one filter? Does it filter out odors? Maybe a bit but it seems to be a pre-filter to help keep the dust out of the washable filter before the air gets to the coils. There is about a 1/4" gap on the ends of the filters. Not sure if the filter shrank or was cut small, but that what I see on my install. I'll take away one star for a slightly undersized filter and the price.

Carbon Filter arrived as expected.
This arrived on time. Bought it in Amazon's "super-saver shipper" deal, in other words bought a few other items to make it qualify and saved on shipping. This was great. This fit in my Whynter ARC-14S 1400 btu dual duct portable AC. There are tiny gaps at the edges that worry me a bit, but i don't think that is probably avoidable with this replacement carbon filters, as they even have a porosity throughout, as part of their structure, which represents equivalent space, or gaps through which air flows somewhat unfiltered. I have zero idea how much a carbon filter of this type actually accomplishes, and would love to know. i have a $500 air purifier in which is around ten pounds of actual activated carbon, which i have to replace every year or so, and that air filter is "convincing". but this Whynter product is an AIR CONDITIONER not an air filter, so i guess having the added little carbon filter cannot hurt. if anybody knows more about how much these filters really do, if anything, i hope they post here.

Activated carbon filters for Whynter potable A/C's need to be changed once a year.
I believe these filters are fairly pricey for what they consist of, but we all know that's the case with manufacturer's replacement parts! Otherwise, no complaints.

Definitly more flimsy than the one that came with the AC
Size is not 8 x 16... it is 7-1/2 x 15-1/4 which leaves gaps all the way around. I would continue looking!!

Whynter ARC-CF-14S Activated Carbon Replacement Filter. Perfect. I unfold and cut this into four sheets measuring 6-3/8" x 4" to use for my Whytner CoolSize 10000 BTU Compact Portable Air Conditioner, model #: ARC-101CW. So, I'm getting four filters for the price of one. Love it.

Works great along with the Antimicrobial filter
Using this filter along with the Antimicrobial filter have really helped with my allergies this summer. Also, there has been a lot of smoke in the air due to forest fires in the area and the air in the house smells clean.
