Just what I was looking for, great tires!
Having recently built an ebike I quickly found that the tires that came with the donner bike were not the best option for my commuting. The bike came with 700c 38 which also had mini nobs for light off road duty. With rough roads and higher speeds the nobby tires felt a bit sketchy and the higher speeds was waring the tread down at an aggressive rate. So I opted for these tires, Top Contact II 700c x42. The wider profile greatly reduces the impact of bumbs and rougher roads. At this size the handling remains nimble but makes for a more comfortable ride. Having less than 50 miles on them, I am pretty happy with them. The center bead make for a smooth and efficient ride. Riding at higher speed I feel I have more confidence on the rougher roads, and the side tread patterns seem to grip pretty well. The bike rolls almost silent even on rough asphalt. Off road performance, I would say they do well for packed dirt, but would still take some caution on making aggressive turns but still they seem to grip well. Overall the bike feels a bit heavier but the extra comfort, and efficiency seems to be worth it. My ride can go up to 35mph and I am pretty sure these tires will holdup to the abuse. My ride can probably accept 47s for more cushion but I am thinking this may slow the bike down too much. I can update again after a few months. So far; great tires! Update : I have put almost 1000 miles on these tires and they barely show signs of ware. Another benefit is that these tires seem to perform well on wet roads. They wick the water well and feel well connected still. Fender guards still recommend. For commuting, also the reflective side walls is bonus. At this rate I would say these tires will provide thousands of commuter miles and ebike fun. Will likely buy again. Sold tire for my ebike commuter and light off road duty. If you plan on running these on an ebike, I would recommend to go with wider tires to support the wieght and more comfort on bumpy roads. I think my next set will be 47s if I can get them to fit. Lasty, these tires have pretty good puncture protection. I ran over a staple and didnt notice until at home. Pulled the staple an no air loss! (Center bead)

Check out Continental's cheaper options they might be just as good for Less...
I bought these tires to replace the stock Innova tires that came on my Diamondback Hybrid. The Innova tires lasted five years, but since I never rotated them, the rear wore out faster than the front so I figured I'd replace both. The tread on the Innova look exactly like the Continental Ride Tour which is what I feel I should have gotten. I bought these because the reviews and the description said that they were meant for Speed an extra puncture protection. I ride on average 10 miles a day, 8 months out of the year and the bike is stored inside the house regardless of season. 95% of my biking is done on smooth paved paths and the street. It rarely goes off road, the beaten path or gravel. In terms of speed I haven't noticed any lower roll resistance compared to my old tires and because the tread is pretty smooth, I'm definitely not as confident cornering in these. Maybe time will tell and they'll get better as they wear. I've only put about 50 miles on them thus far. They're okay, but I'm not really that impressed. I feel like the Continental ride tour would have been a better option for less money. So if you're on the fence I would go with the cheaper option. The reflex was also an added bonus. But I rarely ride in the dark so it would not have mattered anyways. Like others have said and I agree, the tire does pick up little rocks in the tread that every so often you have to poke out.

No Flat Tires in 2 years due to Hazards
I am a recreational bike rider in the suburbs/country. Where I live, there are this ground thorns that are sturdy and would puncture tire and tubes easily causing small leaks. I was getting tired of always having to fix or replace the inner tube, which was about once or twice a month. It was easier to replace when there were multiple small holes throughout the tire because of the thorns. I started doing research and found eBike tires had better hazard protection. The tires are heavier, but I am not in any races, so it didn't matter. However, the tires extra puncture layer did their job. In 2 years since I replace the original tires, I have not had a hazard flat. I am very impress and would buy again. Actually, I did buy again about a year ago, I was already impressed. I put them on my son's bike which he was happy because he could almost ride anywhere in the neighborhood without worrying about getting a flat tire

Picking up gravel not a problem
These tires do pick up tiny pieces of gravel, but it's not a problem on the roads I cycle on, which have their share of rocks, gravel, thorns, sticks, and (thanks to the Texas Open Container Law) lots of broken glass in the bike lanes. Maybe I'll take a minute to remove 3 pieces of gravel stuck to the front tire and none from the back after a 23 mile ride, like that. However, I do spend a large percentage of time avoiding any obstacles in the road whatsoever. So far, with the Continental Top Contact II's and slimed inner tubes I've had no blowouts at all and this is during the 'thorny' part of the year. I like the flatness down the center of the tire which picks up no gravel at all. This is important for me because with 700cc x 28mm I have 2-3mm of clearance between the rear wheel and the seat tube. Also, these Continentals Top Contact II's are pretty much just as fast as any other sportier road tire that I own. It's mostly tire pressure that accounts for the differences. I go 90 psi on these and higher on others.

Keine eierlegende Wollmilchsau

Amazing tires!
I was looking for an "allroad" type of tire. I went for those, which are the top of the line road/touring/path tire in Continental offering. They are perfect. They are fast on the road (they don't have a thick puncture resistence layer like others. Instead, they feature Continental's Vectran barrier like Gatorskins, which keeps them pretty light). They roll fast on pavement, and on gravel paths, even on loose gravel parts or light forest packed trails, they perform admirably and grip very well. I have a flat-bar-road-bike-that-does-everything, and indeed, they are the perfect tire for my use! I run 700X28 size on Mavic Ksyrium wheels, by the way. (No, they don't do tubeless, but I had a tubeless setup right before with these wheels that came with a tubeless tire, and decided to ditch that. Going from 80psi one day to 50psi three days after, with plenty enough sealant was a pain.) The design of those Top Contact is also very nice. Nothing negative to say.

Copertone x Bici Continental Sport Contact II
Carlo Gisonni
