Awesome color, not so perfect fit for a "petite"
I have not gotten to wear it out in the cold yet - this preliminary review is only for the look, fit and color. I will update once I have weather tested it. I love the color Mineshaft! It is a very versatile color. It looks grey when I wear black tones and it looks brown when I wear brown tones - it's the best of both worlds! It feels very comfortable on, not bulky. In fact it feels a bit thin, it will be interesting to test it weather wise considering the positive reviews that say it keeps you warm, I am excited to have it so thin but hopefully be able to keep me toasty. My only complaint is the cut for my body. I am 5'3" 145 lbs (I am in between a hourglass to pear body type) and I guess my height makes me borderline petite. For that reason, this jacket isn't a perfect fit. I ordered the Medium. The sleeves are too long and the entire upper body (arms, chest and belly) are honestly too loose for my liking, they add weight to my upper body. I cannot size down though because the very end of the jacket (near the base of the zipper) hits over the widest part of my hips. That makes that area almost tight. If I size down overall to a Small, I don't think I'd be able to comfortably zip the jacket up. So I will just have to deal with the larger upper body. The jacket does have a bit of "tailor" cinch at the waist though (I have seen other jackets that make you look like the marshmallow man), so the little extra room in the upper body isn't a deal breaker for me. I guess this will just mean I can wear layers underneath if need be.

Ok. I just received this coat. White one. I opened it and at first was disappointed because I thought how is this light weight coat gonna be warm. Well I got out of the car (temp outside was 24°) And I was outside for approximately 15 mins. I can tell you I DID NOT GET COLD. Very impressed, so I started looking at the inside it has a reflective type of material not to mention SO SOFT and the material keeps your body heat in. I love the thumb holes in the sleeve and I love the look. I am usually an XL but I ordered a 1X. It fits well. I am 5'7 with on the smaller size chest and all in all it fits great, not too tight and the arm length is perfect. I don't light the sleeves too short or a jacket too tight where I feel like I can't breathe and THIS FITS PERFECTLY. So my advice is whatever normal size you wear, go up an extra size unless you like tight fitting to the skin. I came inside with the jacket had it on inside for maybe 5 mins, checking out how I looked in the coat, and it was HOT!! This is by far the best jacket I have ever bought. I am in love. And I just got it an hour ago but I can tell you ITS A VERY NICE LIGHTWEIGHT COAT that can endure some cold, yet I will stay warm.

Short sleeves + this jacket = still warm for a walk in 30 or below degrees weather.
If you’re thin without much “natural” insulation, then do yourself this favor: purchase Columbia Omni-Heat jacket/s or vest/s. It absorbs and maintains your own body heat without letting the wind steal it, leaving you cold and shivering. I’m able to comfortably and WARMLY walk my dog 2+ miles in 30 or below mornings before the sun rises with this jacket over a simple, short-sleeve T-shirt shirt (also purchased through amazon). I only wish it were more form-fitting or a way to tighten the bottom around my hips to trap my heat inside. Note: I do NOT get cold with this jacket on, it’s merely a design preference. Great jacket. Blocks the wind. Love the collar as well— keeps my neck warm! No extra layers needed. Inside pocket is ideal for key-fob and keeps chapstick warm. Ordered a small for my longer-than-usual-for-my-body-size arms and torso, Height 5’6”, Weight ~118/120. Waist and arm length ideal even with thumb holes. Boxy fit, but it’s more my body type than the jacket’s shortcoming.

Great quality and warmth, may run small
I have the Columbia Mighty Lite Hooded Jacket, with the same OmniHeat technology. I bought this one as a gift for my friend because she is much shorter than me, and she didn’t like how long my jacket was on her (I’m 5’6.5”, she is 5’0”). This one is perfect on her frame, and since she doesn’t use a hood, it didn’t matter to her that this one didn’t have one. She loves the added warmth of the fleece around the neck, and the thumb holes to keep her sleeves down. The cut and style are extremely flattering, and the colors are lovely. I will say that you should size up if you are busty. I had ordered her usual size, and she couldn’t zip it up all the way, so I had to exchange for a larger size. As usual, Amazon return was super easy! My friend loved the new jacket, and I loved that I could find something that worked so well for her!

I love this coat
I love this coat. I wanted something to keep me warm in the mountains of Arizona (where it occasionally gets very cold, but does not frequently drop below 20-30 degrees) without adding a lot of bulk. I read a lot of reviews saying this coat is thin, but very warming. They were right. I've now used it in 30-40 degree weather (with a t-shirt underneath) and skiing in windy 5 degree weather (with a long-sleeve compression shirt and a thin hoodie underneath). It never failed to keep me toasty warm. I especially love that you can pull the sleeves over your gloves to keep wind and snow out. I like that it zips up over my mouth for particularly cold wind. I do wish there were two internal pockets: one for phone and one for money/ID/credit cards (so I don't accidentally drop money when taking out my phone). That is my only constructive criticism. I was a little concerned reading reviews that it ran small. I am 5'4" and an athletic 145 pounds with broad shoulders. I typically wear a size medium jacket and was a little worried the medium wouldn't fit. After wearing it, I think I probably could have ordered a small. Even with a hoodie underneath, it wasn't tight.

nice looking but not sure its a winter coat
fits great, nice color. I was searching for a winter coat and this one came out in the search, its a bit tin so im not sure its going to be good has a winter coat, there is the king of aluminum coat inside so i know its going to be good for -10 degrees, but will it go further ?
