so cute but poor quality

I love these shoes because they look great and have a soft foot bed so they are comfortable. But, I have now purchased two different pairs of these shoes and both times the elastic band at the side has stretched and ripped on the first wear. I bought the first pair direct from Dolce Vita, so this must be a product flaw/poor design. I read multiple reviews with similar feedback, which is really unfortunate.

Really love the look of these sandals but straps on both sandals broke after just wearing them for a week.
