Fit perfectly in an American Standard toilet bowl that is long:

Had a hard time finding a universal flush handle that would fit and function right. Gave this a try and it worked perfectly. Tank is curved in the front corners and the hole for the flush handle is square and in the corner of one of the curves making it an awkward position. This flush handle has a piece that juts out providing the necessary spacing for the handle to sit the right distance from the tank. It also has the perfect sized square bit to interface with the square hole.

Appears to be well made, and the handle looks more like actual polished brass than the old one it replaced. Only problem is that the handle should have been angled down more on the rod, to keep it clear of the tank lid. I had to turn it so far down when installing it that the rod hits the lid.

Fits AS Model 4061 ..some play in the handle

For the money, I can't complain too much. Easy install, just had to bend the metal back a bit to get it centered over the flapper. It flushes just fine (don't have to hold the handle down as one other reviewer mentioned), but there is quite a bit of play in the handle itself. I have the plastic nut tightened all the way but it still feels loose. ...still beats the heck out of the flapper chain-to-old usb cable I was using while waiting for this one to come :)

Amazon web site had it, American Standard website did not

The new American Standard toilet had a chrome handle. I ordered the brass handle to match the rest of the bathroom fixtures. The American Standard website did not have the item but Amazon did. I bent the generic handle rod to match the shape of the original. I had to enlarge the hole for the pin that attaches to the chain. That was the only extra work, or I would have given five stars. The generic handle is shorter that the original, resulting in slightly less leverage, thus have to push a little harder. I did not get any complaints. The absence of instructions was not a problem. It would have been nice to know that the plastic threaded clamp has a left-hand thread.

The right trip lever for your American Standard toilets!

American Standard's generic, left-hand, white, chrome, or brass plastic handle replacement trip levers are a tight but perfect fit for both my 20-year-old American Standard Cadet and Vitramex (Hydra) toilets. Both plastic handles appear well made and engineered and contain a reinforced brass flush rod, with multiple attachment points for the flapper chains. They should last for years (CAUTION: A.S.'s *plastic* trip lever handle versions break far too easily after installation) and should be avoided. Use the brass handle versions!) All I had to do was easily bend back the brass flush levers about 15 degrees (simple) in order to get a perfect alignment directly over both my new Fluidmaster 501 universal flappers and their plastic pull chains (also installed at the same time on both toilets). Both installations took less than 15 minutes each, from start to first test flushes. I only needed a pair or pliers to install them. Perfect. Recommended.

Not bad for the price.

This "generic" toilet handle with a metal arm is the only one I could find that could be made to actually fit an older American Standard with a handle that is placed in the corner at a 45° angle. Even on this one the handle arm has to be bent to fit the toilet. This one has the white plastic handle and is made in Taiwan. Durability has yet to be determined.

Well made. Strong, bendable arm.

I first tried buying a competitor's shiny metallic (they claimed "all metal") lever. It was garbage that broke immediately during install. I then bought this very inexpensive plastic-and-metal lever and was surprised it was so much better. This one's lever arm is both strong and flexible. It installed easily and I am sure it will last for many years into the future!

A little Jerry-rigging to make it work, but it worked well!

Had an American Standard with a strange front corners, basically 45 degree angle from side and front forming a flat area where lever mounted. It worked well as the metal could be bent and maintain the desired angle to not interfere with the fill valve and float.

Good looking plastic.

I had to trim the collar to fit as it was bigger than the hole in my tank but it works as expected now while making the toilet look a bit nicer. It’s replacing a metal handle that has been around for some time now, so the plastic’s lasting power remains to be seen. Not overly expensive, but not cheap for plastic either. Over all I am happy. Nice enough that I will probably replace in kind when the time comes.

CRAPPY, CHEAP DESIGN

I was very disappointed in this. I have an American Standard toilet. My bathroom fixtures are brass finish, so I order the brass polished trip lever. I was so disappointed when it arrived that I didn't put it on. The colour is way too brassy and looks like a piece of cheap junk.
