PRO: 1. Best price on Amazon for this volume. 2. You can use this on more than just beta fish. 3. Test water first. Record those results, then apply this IAW the directions, test again, BOOM, perfect. CON: 1. Wish the price was not so high for what it is. 2. No marks on the measure cup. OTHER: 1. BUY if you want a decent volume for the price. 2. DON'T BUY if you use A LOT of this type chemical, there are other brands that sell in bulk, but know they will expire before you use it all, so happy balance is the key.

I have a three gallon bowl for my betta. I change 25% of his water weekly and use a baster to clean out the gravel and conditioner the water with the recommend dose of this (5ml per 1 gallon) it has an easy lid to measure with. The way I do it that is easiest is that I use purified water to fill up the bowl to begin with and add a full cap full of this and add the small heater for my betta and wait a few hours to allow it to heat up and the conditioner to permeate before transfering the betta to the bowl (this is when you first get the fish). Then I add 5ml of this to a 1 gallon purified water jug, shake it up, and then let it sit. I keep it in the same room as his bowl to keep it at the same temperature. Once I have removed 25% of the water (weekly) with a cup and cleaned the gravel I simply pour the water from the jug in until it is two inches from the top of the bowl to replenish the water. If you wish not to spend money on purified water just save a jug and fish it with tap water and add the same amount of conditioner and follow the same process and you will have the water right there for you ready to go. When I change the water I also add a small amount of API stress zyme to help with the harmful bacteria and reduce the stress on my fish. This conditioner seems to work very well and my betta is happy, healthy, and active. Important to note! Amazon has clearly listened to reviewers and taken care of the shipping issue. The bottle is now shipped in a sealed plastic bag that says "ready to ship" and you therefore do not need to worry about ti exploding or leaking over your other items. I have ordered three of these and none have leaked in shipping (or ever) so you can purchase with two day shipping with confidence. ALSO IMPORTANT! It says in the instructions this is for use on smaller bowls/tanks, I would not use this in anymore than a 3 gallon bowl/tank as it is pricey and in a small bottle and you will go through it fast making it a waste of money. An equally as good alternative is stress coat by API (or Seachem Prime but I find stress coat works better with bettas for their slime coat). Both are available here on amazon and are in large bottles at a much more reasonable cost. Whichever conditioner you choose I recommend using it with API stress zyme (also available here on amazon) as stress zyme kills off harmful making a healthy and stress free environment for your betta.

Caps missing

No lid

Product arrived sealed and new, no lid. Only two problems with this, no secure storage and no way to measure accurately. That is what the outside clear blue lid is for.????

Came spilled

My bottle came quickly, but it had spilled all over the inside of the box. There was still plenty left inside, so I figured I would use it to condition my Betta’s water and he is now struggling for his life :( I wonder if some of the spilled liquid may have been what the product needs to be properly mixed, resulting in the wrong chemical make up! It’s also cold in Canada here so that likely caused it to spill.. regardless, I asked for a refund and bought Seachem Prime and now my fish is starting to move around a bit more.

Came without lid and the measuring cup

Just ordered it and it came without a lid and the bottle is dirty. It only has plastic seal on it and I am worried to use it for my betta. I can’t believe they can just send it like this… this is not safe.

Works great for my beta fish, never had a problem. If I may add regular tank conditioner is very similar to the beta stuff so if for some reason you find yourself in a pinch regular water conditioner works just was good!

Betta resumed making bubble nest when we moved back to this conditioner!

We could not find this conditioner at our local pet store, so we got another one and our Betta basically stopped making his bubble nest. He has resumed now after changing back to this conditioner. We are not changing from this anytime till this betta is around!

Great product, my fish are very happy with their conditioned water. This product works better then my previous brand of water conditioner.
