Perfect size
I downgraded from the large (had been using for years) to the medium size Best. Decision. EVER- while using the large version of this siphon I felt as though the bucket I was siphoning water into was filling up way before I could even get to the floating debris in the water column. Now I have all the time in the world to target certain areas/things while cleaning Sometimes..Bigger isn't always better!!!

Nice Basic Siphon
I really like this siphon. I like it more than the python (basic) because this one has a bucket attachment to keep the tube in the bucket with a cheaper price.

Good tool for keeping tank clean
Easy to use, a little suction on the tube starts the flow of water up from the tank and in to bucket.

No bulb to get suction going
This gravel cleaners works good but there is not bulb to get suction going. This is a pain to get started. Next time I will make sure to take a closer look.

I have used the Aqueon Aquarium Siphon Vacuum Gravel Cleaner for two water changes for my 32.5 gallon aquarium over the past month. Works as advertised. Suction seems adequate - it takes some practice to make sure gravel stays in place but once you get the hang of it no problem. Found the best way to get the siphon running from aquarium to bucket was to easily suck on the end of the hose rather than moving the hose up and down in the tank as suggested. That technique gets the water moving too much and is probably stressful for the fish. Good simple product at a good price - I recommend it.

Perfect for my 40 and 55 gallon turtle tanks!
It works great! I have a 40 gallon tank and a 55 gallon tank, the 40 contains 3 hatchling turtles, the 55 contains a 1 year and 3 month old snapping turtle that I rescued. She is a pig lol makes such a mess, she's about 6 inches in diameter. Now this vacuum sucks up water nice and fast but not so fast that you can't get all the sludge out before it drains the entire tank empty. It sucks up some gravel just enough to loosen the sludge and syphon it out of the gravel then gravel falls back to the tank floor, not to mention it didn't clog up on me, not once. I am very pleased with this vacuum. I've tried others and they either empty the tank too fast, or they get clogged because the suction is too strong and it sucks the gravel ALL THE WAY UP the tube and gets clogged at the top.... (Which is extremely annoying) I've tried other vacuum's and most of them are all just terrible. Some won't even start syphoning! Even if you try and suck it through with your mouth. The size of this is perfect! The diameter of the tube opening is and inch and a half, where most others are 2 inches (unless you're using a mini) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VACUUM FOR ANY TYPE OF AQUARIUM! Whether you have fish, turtles, whatever.... If you have no substrate on the bottom of your tank it'll work, if you have gravel substrate, great! If you have even SAND I would still recommend this vacuum. It has a powerful suction but not so powerful that it'll suck all the sand out. Hope this review helps someone! I rely on reviews just as you all do, I try to leave my most honest opinion possible to ensure you guys have something to read so you can make your purchase with knowledge of the item you're buying!

Easy to use, small tanks beware
I have the 9" variant of this and been using in 10gal and 20gal. I believe it is my mistake for taking the larger one. It's fine for our 20gal but get a bit sketchy in the 10gal one. Still works though. Succion power is a little low, nothing that really hinders the process. I would have liked a little more to move more gravel around.

It'll do its job, but not amazingly
So, yes, if you simply want to pull out 30-50% of your water to undergo a water change and nothing more, this is your guy. However, my tank is heavily aqua-scaped and as such, actaully vacuuming the substrate to remove old food, fish poop, and whatever else, is pretty difficult. The portion that you place in the water is far too wide to effectively vacuum in tight to reach spots, so other than pulling my large piece of drift wood and numerous rocks out, I cannot effectively vacuum my substrate. But for simple water changes, it works perfectly. Oh, and a side note, the technique the packaging says to employ to start the siphon (bobbing up and down) doesn't work and jostles your water around violently, stressing the fish, so don't do it. Instead. simply give the end of the tube a hard suck and pull your mouth off quickly - the water flow should start and if you do it right you'll get no water in the mouth (initially I did every time, but with more practice I can now consistently keep my mouth fish water free with no issue)

Sifon para pecera de 40 litros
Lo recibi como regalo para poder limpiar mi pecera sin estar batallando, te ayuda mucho. Realmente no tengo contra que compararlo ya que es el primer sifon que tengo, yo diria que para iniciarlo es un poco problematico y puede estresar a los peces por el tipo de movimiento que se tiene que hacer.

Works well, but makes waves.
It works well enough once you figure out how to use it. You need to shake it fairly vigorously to activate the syphon, and that makes quite a bit of commotion in the tank. After a few tries, you learn how to do it and you can get the tank draining in just a couple of seconds.
