Disappointed

I have completed other National Geographic puzzles and have been very pleased. I was looking forward to working on the Photo Ark puzzle because I've admired Joel Sartore's work. Unfortunately, when I finished the puzzle I had 2 pieces left but they did not fit in the 2 spaces remaining. Because of the shapes of the remaining pieces, it is clear that I did not make a mistake by putting 2 other pieces in the incorrect location. Looks like someone tossed in 2 miscellaneous pieces so the total number of pieces was correct.

easy to work with

A really cool fun little puzzle

This looks like it would be ultra difficult but it is satisfying and well-designed. The pieces fit very crisply together and there is enough distinction in the coloration of the butterflies to allow one to group them together without having a horrendously difficult time. Don't get me wrong here, this is quite challenging and there is really nothing easy about it but it is rewarding to work on and once you get the hang of it it does come together quite smoothly. The black backdrop is quite tough but the pieces are diversely enough shaped to allow you to make progress. I really enjoyed this one and can recommend to anyone who likes puzzles. I would rate this in the intermediate to moderately difficult range but it has a nice cohesion that makes sense and the frustration level is low. I would think that a beginning puzzler might find this a bit over their heads but if you are experienced with puzzles I can guarantee you a fun experience. Highly recommended.

Missing Pieces!

Is there no quality control? There were 4 contiguous edge pieces missing and 2 field pieces missing and then 2 pieces that didn't even go with the puzzle? The whole purpose of a puzzle is solving it, and this one can't be solved!

ENJOYABLE PUZZLING :-)

Sorry about the ACTUAL PUZZLE photo so sending a photo of the box too 500 pieces - measures 21 1/4" W x 15" H - POSTER INCLUDED - PIECE SIZE/THICKNESS APPROXIMATES A QUARTER - "PUZZLING TO ME" means pieces, even using a mag glass I struggle to find where they fit = ALL COMPLETELY BLACK PIECES, INCLUDING FRAME PIECES = LIKE PUZZLING IN A BLACK OUT PUZZLE ON SHOPPERS :-)
