Great rappel bag. Very versatile. experts only.
The Blackhawk Enhanced Tactical rope bag is a excellent product with many capabilities. This bag is designed for experienced professionals. Rappelling with the rope already hanging is much different than rappelling with the rope in the bag. Normally when rappelling the rope is fully deployed the weight of the rope is hanging on the rappelling device creating friction even before you grab hold of the rope. I on one occasion was rappelling down the side of a 200 foot grain elevator with all the equipment I needed for the job the rope was hanging all the way to the ground. When I went over the side me and my equipment weighed about 450lbs. I actually had to reach down and pick up rope just to move down the line. At 75 feet I had to start holding tension and lock off the rope to work. The closer I got to the ground the more important it became to properly lock off the rope. With the Blackhawk bag strapped on my harness and leg things get serious quickly if you are not properly trained with experience it could get dangerous quickly. With the rope in the bag and strapped to my harness and leg there is no hanging rope to cause friction. This is a tactical bag and requires skills above average to be safe. This is a tool that allows you to rappel at high speed in multiple positions. This bag is not for beginners, the faster you go the quicker things can go wrong. Also if you make a fast rappel to the ground you must quickly get your rope out of the rappel device or it will burn your rope. I would recommend this bag for police or fire use unless you're extremely proficient with rope management, and proper rigging . This is a great bag that works well if properly used.

Could be better, could be worse
So, it IS a tactical rappel bag. That’s a plus. Pros are that it will hold 200’+ of 12.5 mm rope. It is solidly made and of thick and dense enough material that it will take some abuse. Cons are that it could use a set of molle strips to hold some accessories, and the shoulder strap is fairly useless. If it had the same buckle on it that the other drop leg attachments had, the plastic buckle could turn it into a real drop leg pouch.

I'm glad I did
I got this bag for the potential of being able to attach it to my leg and not worry about chunking rope over a ledge, and possibly impact damaging my rescue rope. In comparing the bags we used at work I figured that a bag that would hold 200ft of rope was going to be way to big, but i ordered it anyways. I'm glad I did. I've got over 200 ft of 1/2" rescue rope and my rappel rack in the main compartment and it's still not "to big". I took off one star because of the exterior pocket. It is not deep enough to hold a 6 bar rappel rack. But it does have room for my gloves, anchor plate, and anchor webbing. I'm still flushing out my kit, but i have no doubt that i'd be able to get the 5 carabiners i'm going to buy in the exterior pocket.

Holds my Sterling 150" rope perfectly
This bag is durable and functional. It can be strapped to your leg for a tactical rappel. It has the small pouch for the extra ties string to stow. It has a shoulder harness that can also be stored. This is the only part that makes no sense - because the shoulder strap can be stored, it is sewn within the pouch, so when you fold over the pouch flap, the strap essentially opens the flap. I have a 150' Sterling rope and it fit perfectly. The bag is also low profile. The front pocket is large enough to stow rescue 8's and a few carabiners. I think it is a great rope bag.

Great
Great bag so far. Will update as time goes IF any issues arise. For people looking for sizing i managed to get 300' of G11 into it with no room to spare so it's going to be perfect for what I need it for. But it is tight.

This is big
I purchased this for a 11 MM x 150 FT PMI static line. It fills the bag about 2/3 of the way. The bags construction is very solid with reinforced stitching all the way around. The front pocket is a decent size. I keep two edge protectors in it.
