Poor choice for a substitute router lift - small holding ring can come off easily.
The mechanism used to hold the router's height while being used as a lift in a table is absolutely garbage. The one that came with my router broke after about a year. I stupidly ordered this one, and it broke within a week. There is a small, black u-ring on the height shaft, and it can come right off, and once off it will no longer truly stay on. You can really ruin some cuts if this thing pops off mid-cut. It is a terrible design. I gave the base a two because it works just fine when right-side up, so if that is your only intended purpose, it's fine. The problem is that they also imply that this base is able to be mounted to a router table, but the mechanism for holding the height when raising/lowering is just waiting to break, and leave you with a hole in your wallet. If you want to use this as a router lift... don't... buy a real lift and make it a one and done purchase.

Junk...absolute JUNK!
I've gone through two bases in just a few months, so I guess it works great for about a day or so. On both bases and within just a few days, the E retaining ring on the adjustment rod that is too flimsy to handle adjusting the router on a table bends out of shape and falls off. The first base I had got stuck so badly, I basically had to break the base to get it off the router. Shame on me because this happened on the 2nd base. The E retaining ring snaps out of place, so I tried a "fix", but after a few days, that didn't work either. So, here I am again with the router stuck in the base with a bent out of shape E retaining ring, a striped adjustment rod (allen wrench no longer works), and the stem itself is stripped in the base. Thus, the macro adjustment lever is stuck in place, which means my router is stuck, stuck, stuck. I called Bosch customer service who gave me two options: send it in for repair or take it to an authorized repair location. From this trend with this base in particular, I will be getting this repaired or replaced every other week. No thank you.

Can’t go wrong with Bosch.
Bosch quality at a good price. FYI this base will fit the same style craftsman router. Both were made by Bosch. The craftsman is just rebranded. Smooth travel when adjusting height. Can be a bit of a pain to get the router in the base at first.

Replacement
This is a replacement, rather, my second. I stand my router up side down, to adjust my work. If I bump it ,it flips off to the floor. The only thing I do to help with adjustments is to put a little anti-seize inside. Duh aluminum to aluminum don’t slide , it locks up.

Great router.
I messed up my other router base-being a bit too 'heavy-haned' with it. This one is an exact duplicate and just what I needed to replace the one I broke. Totally my fault for breaking the original! Great router.
