The perfect bathroom fan?
Installed this fan in an existing bathroom in a 50s ranch home that somehow made it this far without one. Super easy install & great instructions. I had full access in the attic, but they include instructions if you don't and, of course for new construction. For your shopping list: fan uses 6 inch ducting. Functionally it is insanely quiet. Since we were retro fitting an existing bathroom we just wired it to the light, so it is always on if the light is on. Since it is two speed and only kicks up to high when there is humidity it remains almost unnoticeably quiet until the humidity raises. Even at the higher, settable speed the fan is barely noticeable and does a wonderful job pulling air out. We liked it so much we bought a second to replace an existing fan in another bathroom.

Is not a "replacement" for an existing fan (probably). Read the install instructions before buying.
I read the product description about this fan's features about telescoping through an existing drywall opening to indicate the fan would easily replace an existing fan without cutting a big hole in the ceiling and patching wallboard. That part is probably correct, but once I started looking at the installation instructions, it became obvious that the proper operation of the fan requires complete rewiring - including adding another switch. I'm remodeling a bathroom with no ability (due to wall stud location) two fish in extra wires and add a multi-gang electrical box. Unless you are going to rip down all the wall board and run new wires, this is not for remodeling. Okay, if you currently have 2 wires running to your bathroom fan, this might work. i should have read the other reviews about difficulty in getting this fan to operator before ordering or looked up the installation instructions on the vendor's website.

Not impressed. Never got it to operate on auto himidification mode. Unable to adjust the speed. Using it on manual switch. Look elsewhere.

Bad humidity sensor runs all day!
Humidity sensor is poor and triggers the fan even when the room is dry. The fan sucks the heat out in winter and cool air in summer. These units were never designed to work. Now I need to have a contractor remove and replace them so they can be returned. Don't buy this fan!

I liked them so much
I have bought two for my last house. I just bought 4 more for my current home. I put the 4th one in my laundry room. After 1 year, I swear by it. I leave them on 24/7. I liked them so much. I wish the dual speed humidity sending version came with speakers and a light option, but it does not. We had a recent energy survey. It was Prior to getting an Aeroseal installation in my duct work. The salesman wrote down the product information. He said they were way quieter than the Panasonic models he had been selling. He has had great feedback on the new models.
