Great golf gps

I bought this for my dad who isn't very tech savvy. He was able to use it right out of the box without having to call me. I would recommend this.

Good for distance

Works for distances well. I don’t use all the other features ie scoring or shots made. Fits on the phone holder of my push cart or sticks to the roof support on a golf cart. A good value. Replaced expensive product from another leading brand.

Great value!

I carried an Approach G5 for over 11 years before the screen became unreadable, and I LOVED it; and it still worked! Tough act to follow. But, alas, it could not be repaired! To replace with current G8, at $350 in retirement, got me to looking around, and I landed on this Phantom 2. I’ve got about a dozen rounds in with it, and I am figuring out how to get the information I need from it; it is getting the job done pretty well. The moveable pin placement works ok. The distance to land marks, like traps and water, is usable but takes some getting used to. I figure by this time next season, I’ll have it down. I do really like the magnetic feature. And it sticks to the cart without sliding down - but don’t leave it on the cart! I get three rounds per charge, and have yet to go dead on the course. And the screen is very easy to read, even in bright sunlight - that is vast improvement over the G5. At this stage, I’m satisfied with the purchase, and think the Phantom 2 is a great deal.

Accurate but the controls are a PI the A

This thing is NOT intuitive. It is accurate though, and once you get the hang of it, it's very good. If you hit the wrong button(s), it can take a while to undo that which you had no intention of doing in the first place and finding your way back to what it was you were trying to find (mostly yardage). Speed is good, in terms of shot-to-shot yardage. Battery life is exceptional - I've pulled off two 36 hole days without worrying about battery life. I've left it on my bag for two months half-charged and gone golfing and there was still enough life to get through the round. That's probably my favorite thing about this tool. Would I recommend it? Yes. I've purchased a couple more as gifts. It's basic but it's good.

Accurate

Used several times, and it is accurate. Compared it to fairway markers, optical range finders, and it is within a yard or two - plenty accurate for my game. It holds a charge well, and is basic and easy to use. Just what I needed.
