I should have bought a non-tapered barrel.

It is okay, but the hair tends to migrate to the top of the barrel and make very tight ringlet curls no matter what I do.

Great quality but poor size/shape due to barrel

I love chi - i have other products from them. I wanted a curling wand but all they had was this odd shaped thing. It gave me kinked small curls, like what you would expect after getting a perm in the 80s. If this is the look you're going for, buy it. I wanted beach waves and this did not deliver. From a quality perspective, the iron is beautiful, well made, and high quality. It is easy to use and beautiful to look at. Heats up quickly and keeps the curl/kink. I wish they made a normal ceramic barrel - i returned this.
