Absolutely love this

I've tried several different lumbar/waist packs from different companies that all got wonderful reviews and I couldn't stand any of them. I hike a lot but can't use a backpack because of back issues - Can't even use a purse with a shoulder strap. I had pretty much given up on waist packs too but loved the color and the price so I thought I'd give this one a try. So glad I did. Not only is it super lightweight but it's extremely comfortable around the waist. And bonus if you have back issues - this actually makes my back feel better hiking like it offers lumbar support. The only negative which could be an issue for some is that it is not very breathable. I hike where it's hot most of the year and it has dampened my shirt. That could be an issue if your just wearing a single layer and it's cool out on a long hike. And obviously you can't pack a ton of items in here but it is pretty roomy and the flat profile keeps the pack in place not pulling on your waist or back.

Great for on the go

This hip pack works great being a busy mom of toddlers. I usually have my hands pretty full and this is able to carry my essentials while we go on walks or to the park.

Keeps the necessities

We have a very long driveway (a third mile) and the family walks up it regularly to see the neighbors. This fanny pack is the perfect size to keep my cell phone, an extra diaper for the baby, a small pack of wipes, and my chapstick. It's really nice to just grab this rather than lug the entire diaper bag around.

Generous Storage

This hip pack by Columbia has generous storage. At first glance, I thought it had the 2 outer pockets on the front and the main compartment. But upon further discovery, I found even more storage! On one of the side pieces, there's a small zippered pocket. You could keep money or a credit card & ID in there. Then on the webbing strip on the sides, you could hang things off of them. I don't know if that's the purpose (or if it's purely decorative), but there are 3 small loops (not sure if that's the best description) on each side. Each of those loops is about an inch wide. The pack is easy to adjust and comfortable to wear. The nylon material is durable.

Good little waist pouch...

The Columbia Tandem Waist pack is made of ripstop nylon and has 4 zippered compartments. One goes across the top, and is the main compartment. Two smaller openings are found in front of the main compartment, and there is one small pocket on a support piece to the side of the main pouch. The other side of the hip belt also has a padded support, but lacking the zippered compartment. The pack is padded on the back and comfortable to wear. This would be a great waist pack for an excursion where you need a few smaller things. None of these pockets are huge, but for a trip to an amusement park or garage sale-ing, where you need money and a few small things this is great. I actually got it for my granddaughter who likes to carry little trinkets around with her when walking or riding her bike through her neighborhood.

Great waist pouch

This is a good size waist pouch. It has four pockets. The main one is big enough for a small water bottle. The back is padded and comfortable to wear. This is a great pouch for hiking or a tiny trip that needs several items to be with.

Okay overall, it just doesn’t look as nice as other hip packs that we own.
