Useful, high quality and low profile extension cord

This was the perfect cord for extending power to a Christmas tree against a wall with no outlets. The brown fades into the wooden floor and baseboards well, so it isn't obvious. I got a cloth cord over a cheaper plastic cord because those plastic ones tend to get gummy over the years. The 8-foot extension was just right for getting behind a corner cabinet with enough length left to reach the window center about a meter from the cabinet. I'm keeping it there throughout the year for random needs - it blends into the background against the oak floors and teak cabinet. I was originally looking for a cord with a surge protector, but they all have large chunky ends. In the end, I decided a better solution is to get a surge protector outlet cover (the box-shaped one that plugs into both outlets and turns 2 into 4-6 outlets), and plug the extension into that: Surge protection, small plug end.

Ignore other reviewers who say things like "Probably a very good cord in 1979, but for modern times it is useless," or who are shocked (though not literally) that this cord is not grounded. These reviewers are ignorant of the facts. This cord is one of thousands of extension cords available in the US today that have two-pin plugs and sockets. They're very common, they're not a 70s throwback, and they're perfectly safe. They're ideal for the thousands of items we use daily that have two pins (think phone chargers - very 1979, right?) And the reason it's not grounded is because...it doesn't need to be! Two-pin plugs are found on electrical devices that don't present a risk of electrical shock (again, think cell phone, iPad, etc). Appliances are only grounded when there is a chance that their casing or outer components might become 'live' with a potentially-fatal voltage. So you need your washing machine and your electric stove to be earthed, but not your iPad or your bluetooth speaker. So this cord is perfectly good for items such as these. In fact, another reason it doesn't have a ground is to stop you from plugging your high-current, high voltage leaf blowers and space heaters into it (as one reviewer clearly wanted to do). It's just a light-duty, well designed and fun little extension cord. Use it for your phone charger or your LED desk lamp. Mister 1979 could even plug his Sony Walkman into it. Oh, and another reviewer (or maybe it was the same one?) warned that the woven covering on this cord is a fire hazard. It's a fire hazard in the same way that 'The Collected Works of William Shakespeare' is a fire hazard. That is, if you were to set it on fire it would be a hazard: otherwise, it's just fine.

Perfect but brown color looks more like a dark copper

I purchased 2 of these and they are PERFECT for what I needed. I purchased the brown color and wanted to mention that it does look more like a dark copper or dark rusty brown color in person. I still love them and glad I got that color but wanted to let everyone else know in case you are expecting it to be a dark chocolate brown.

Unusual and nice-looking

I had never before seen an extension cord with a braided cover and this one looks very nice. It has the benefit of staying in place better than the typical plastic-covered cord. The plug has a sturdy grip and the sockets connect tightly. The eight-foot length was exactly what I needed.

Very well built

Was sceptical at first to order a rather inexpensive extension cord but was surprised how well its made. Blend in well with any interior, the plug is flat so it easily fits behind any cabinet and outlet extension is double sided out of very good quality thermo plastic. Would highly recommend, great value too.

Nice quality

These (I bought two) are great! We never have enough plugs in our house, so I knew I would need a couple. The nice thing about these, besides how nice they look, is the slanted, flat plug for the wall. Too often plugs take up more space than is helpful, and these are really great for leaving some room for another plug. Good quality!

Better than being in the dark

Are looking for a spark in life? Well this baby is 100% not grounded. Besides that though you can plug in your out of date appliances into it. Things to not use it for: anything with electricity. Cool wool patterning though, also an enormous fire hazard. 3 outta 5 because I live life on the edge.
