Great replacement cartridge!

It’s a great replacement cartridge for older Kohler 2 valve showers. Only place I have been able to find them.

It worked well in my Koher faucet

It fits very well in my old Kohler bathtub faucet so the faucet is woring again. Faucet stems of the older models are hard to find in a local hardware store. The only thing I am curious about is that my old stem was broken at its plastic thread, the same part of this stem is also made of plastic. If it last as long as the original then I will be happy with. Nothing last forever.

Three out of four won't shut off.

Had two leaky faucets in bathtub, these were the replacement cartridge. Installed both, faucets off, opened water supply, no dripping, ok so far. Opened faucets, good flow, but: neither would shut off! After fussing a bit, wound up using the new seal washers with the old faucets. Stopped the major leaking. Called Danco, without any questioning they send me a new set of H/C free. Five months later the leaking got pretty bad again, so decided to install the set they sent, did nothing other than remove the old and install the new cartridges. This time: one actually worked, the other same thing: held until turned it on, would not turn it off. So, one out of four worked.... After several tries with the non-working faucet, I noticed a clunking sound when the faucet first was opened, and by pushing directly in on the stem, the flow would slow but not stop. Seems that maybe the cartridge itself is not seating in the faucet and moves, but I'm not sure what's going on. Expensive way to replace the seals, as another reviewer with the same issue noted. Maybe it's just me but others seem to have the same issue.

Works for old Kohler-type hot water valve.

Perfect replacement for my Kohler hot water valve. We could not find the part at all, and were having to makeshift a stopgap solution for our bathtub tap, but this is exactly identical to the original part and resolved our issue quickly and easily. I am not a fixit person. I definitely am no plumber. So to have a solution I can manage personally is absolutely invaluable.

Does the job

Seems to do the job. The threads (the large diameter ones) look a bit rough, and when I installed it, I feared stripping them out as the unit did not screw in smoothly, but was rather tight at certain spots. By working the unit in and out patently at the tight spots, I got it in OK. The flow does not seem as great as before, but the leak is gone. That's the main thing. Price was good, according to people who know such things. Strangely, the tap opens backwards from the original, even though this is labeled as the cold stem. The Hot stem rotates correctly, but the cold is backwards. They are color coded; red is hot, blue is cold.
